    Man, this was helpful. I didn't even jack the motor up worked around the loose waterpump, and I pulled it out and installed the same way, still a.knuckle buster though thanks for the video. Saved my brother and law a few thousand for this simple job

    First, Thank you brother for showing this. It is great video. Hopefully this comment will be useful to some. While I was working, I notice that I am not able to jack up engine much, but I was able to do it after remove 17mm bolt from Front (radiator side) Mount using 17mm flex and Few long Extensions. fyi, if you follow his method, job will be a lot more fun, otherwise it will be pain in the rear end..lol

    Was able to do it on a 2010 without removing crank pulley bolt. Also can go back one step and do a single 12 instead of 2 e torx studs... Bracket comes right off. Otherwise a great video it is much appreciated!🎉🎉🎉

    I watched this before I did this last night, it's helpful but you don't need to take off the front balancer pulley, or need to take off the bottom motor mount and tilt the engine. Make sure you watch the coolant bleeding system

    I'm paying a considerable amount to have the water pump on my 2008 RX 350 replaced, and this excellent video helps me understand the reason it's so expensive. The detailed knowledge and mechanical expertise you demonstrate is outstanding, along with the detailed explanation. Exceptionally well done, much respect to you.

    Did you just take off the lower 19-lug nut to jack up the engine? Was there any other engine mount you had to loosen up?

  • @automotiveinsight

    If memory serves, front wheel drive there is nothing else. All wheel drive has another mount that has 2 17mm bolts on a mount that is on the back of the engine to the frame.

    Where did you jack up the engine from after engine mount off ? I did the oil pan and there's not enough space to clear the bolt for the top bracket to be remove

  • @automotiveinsight

    @automotiveinsight

    Жыл бұрын

    Oil pan. If you’re talking about the upper mount, those bolts will come out without a Jack. If you’re talking about the lower mount, if it’s all wheel drive, there is another mount towards the back of the engine that will need to be loosened.

    @@michaelchu802 bottom. Pretty much in line with the rf cv axle. It should have two bolts you can remove from the side or 2 nuts you can remove from the bottom. Doing it’ll the nuts from the bottom make it easier to line back up.

  • @automotiveinsight

    @automotiveinsight

    You could since you're right there. They really don't give too many problems so if you're going to do it, I would put an OEM one in it. I've replaced many more aftermarket thermostats than OEM ones on Toyota/Lexus.
