2007 - 2014 5.3L V8 Oil Pan Cover Leaking Gasket Repair (Avalanche / Tahoe / Suburban / Silverado)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this repair video we will go over how to identify symptoms relating to a leaking rear oil pan cover on the GM 5.3L V8 engines. This area can develop _small_ leaks with, and without, the engine oil cooler option (RPO KC4) that attaches to this rear cover area of the oil pan (and two different gasket designs for each). This is an uncommon leak to happen in isolation, and it will often *not* be _alone_ but rather one of several oil leaks going on at the same time with these engines at their age now.
The truck illustrated is a 2013 Chevrolet Avalanche LT Z71 Black Diamond Edition with 4WD and the RPO LC9 aluminum block 5.3L V8, but the part number, procedure and tools shown in this video would be applicable for any GMT900 style 2007 thru 2014 4WD Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Express, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, GMC Sierra, GMC Savana, or GMC Yukon XL with the 5.3L V8 engine.

If it was rear main, the bottom of the bell housing that stamped steel access plate would see more oil...Not sure just thinking out loud.
