2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 has BIG PROBLEMS...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#gsxr1000r #suzuki #motorcycle
This 2006 Suzuki GSXR1000r customer came in knowing his bike wasn't performing like it was supposed too. After looking into it, we soon figured there were a handful of things wrong. GSXR hp isn't supposed to be only 109hp... especially a 1000 liter bike! Aside from fixing the gsxr wiring issues, swapping out spark plugs, ignition coils, DNA Airfilter and dyno tuning, we also talk about the DB killer, silencer or whatever you call it. This piece which is meant to quiet down your exhaust, can have some negative effects when it comes to the performance of your motorcycle. Pulling it out could also have a negative effect on your motorcycle performance depending on a few things. Can you remove a motorcycle baffle? Will removing motorcycle baffle cause engine damage? Watch as we go into detail on this matter so you have a better understanding! As always, Thanks for watching!

Something’s way wrong at that low hp for sure. I bought one that same color brand new in 2006 and it was a beast!

My K6 750 had similar issues from previous owners, running super lean, dying crank sensor etc, made 89hp. Got everything running right, from fueling to valve clearances, put some Iridium plugs in there and it's right back at 127hp after a proper tune. These earlier GSXR's are bullet proof. Great video.

Where did you find a wiring harness? Most of the stuff I see available for these older K6s are pretty shagged. Nice gains with simple maintenance! I wish I lived closer to you guys.

It took some searching but we found a practically brand new harness online. It was in like new condition. Maintenance goes a looonnnng way with any vehicle. Thank you for the compliment! 🙌

I have a 2006 GSXR 1000 with the full yoshirma pipe system. I have 44 thousand miles on it. Recently I was riding doing 90 on the fwy. For some reason my bike started dropping my speed to 60 and won’t go over 90. Any comment is appreciated.

Yo man would love your input just got a 2023 R1 with a full akro exhaust and it isn’t tuned. The previous owner still has the o2 sensors in as well as a survo buddy. Any recommendations for flash tunes as where I live no one in the whole state tunes Yamahas…..

I can do what's called a bench flash or mail in flash for your bike. That is usually what I recommend to people with very little options otherwise. I've tuned a few of those as well and i want to say majority of them had the akra exhaust (if you check my profile you can find it there). If you are interested you can email me at: Ericprovenpower@gmail.com 🙌

Oh my goodness I am going through this exact same thing with my 2019 Aprilia Tuono! I just now returned home from getting it Dyno tested and it made only 132 hp at the rear wheel!!! it should make 150+ stock. I have a different tune on the bike along with velocity stacks, air filter, and a special air box that all works as a tuning package from a very reputable tuner. I believe it’s something besides the tune, like an injector or some thing is clogged or a vacuum line is leaking. Whatever it is, how would I go about finding it? Do you work on Aprilia? I have the upmap T 800 with the different tunes in it that I can bring if you think you can work your magic on my girl.

We can't flash those but we did do a power commander tune on one a while ago and similar issue. Very low on power. It went back to dealership where it came from they did valve adjustment and made a huge difference. They told us 1 or 2 of the valves had 0 clearance on them 😳 couldn't even get a feeler gauge thru those 2.

Since upload is fairly new, i ll give it a shot and ask for help 🤷‍♂️😅 I have a k6 like this one, i bought it used and supposed to have brocks short muffler, stock tit headers, no cat, no 2nd plates, no servo, remap over stock ecu and was lowride as a lizard.. I like how it runs, not gonna lie, it can hit 6th limiter given the space but i found myself falling in love with twisties, so, I made it back to stock height, put braided lines, brembo pads, some supercorsas and now the issue is ... muffler.... its way too loud and i want more mid range power without losing the power it has to pull all through 6th gear, so i m thinking of buying another slip on (i wanted to get a Yosh R77 replica to see how its going to behave with a Φ51 400mm muffler plus a 45mm to 51mm link pipe before I buy the more expensive original one) but i m afraid this is gonna mess up the bikes mapping so much and its going to ruin it... So quetions are: What Φ diameter would you recomend for a long muffler? I ve heard about 60 55 57 50 and i cant find data on what to prefer or which to avoind and why. I dont want to choke my bike neither be too unrestricted and lose power And, if by any chance you ve worked on a k6 like mine (no servo, second throtthle plates etc), if i use that replica which i ve found, can you map it somehow? I m not in the US sadly and most of our programmers dont event know what they re doing. They map bikes for straight lines only. P.s. my bike put on a "fairly strict" dyno which we have here 157whp with 530 chain which i want also to change to 520 (they say its not that safe but i ve seen many) All I want is to make my k6 smoother, lighter, quicker, let's say more track oriented rather than zero to afterlife, but, still he able to hit limiter on 6th sometimes 😅 Thanks in advance !

So I can't picture exactly the layout as you are describing with where the diameter is changing exactly but anything less than 50mm is pretty tight, in my opinion. I haven't done specific testing regarding your setup but I would say most replica exhausts are going to run smaller diameter piping and cause a restriction in air flow, not allowing the bike to make as much power as it can make.

Which brand engine is more durable suzuki, Yamaha or Honda??

  • @provenpowercycles

Honda is usually pretty stout and lasts longer than we see in the other brands. Then I would say suzuki motors would be next in line. Just from personal experience.
