    I love your comment ‘High mileage = experienced’. I must remember that. I also have a silver 2006 Cayman S, and love the way it makes me feel every time I drive it. Great video.

    Hahahaha it’s a more positive vibe for the older mileage cars out there. It really is a hell of a great driver’s car.

    Not budget for much longer, the 987.1 is creeping up behind the vast appreciation of the 911 models in the current market. Nice examples of 987.1 models with lower mileage (20-40k miles) are starting to sell for 40-45k. The .2 with good mileage is creeping up around 52-60k. Great cars when sorted with proper aftermarket oiling upgrades and taken care of. The smaller size, timeless classic lines, and analog nature of these 987 models, is very appealing in a modern, sterile and overly digitized modern car market.

    Agreed on all points. I love that these are not appreciating in value to be in lockstep with all other used car prices rising, but rather due to getting the recognition they deserve.

    I would target a higher mileage .1 S that's been taken care of.. Low miles on the .1's could lead to IMS issues if the car wasn't really driven.. If it's been a garage queen and then you get it and track it, the IMS could let go.. I got a PCA member owned 07 CS with 78k miles on it and 8 years of service history for $30k in June.. Car has been fantastic.. i've done one oil change and a track day (completely stock) and it was a blast.. These, and any other desirable enthusiast car, will only go up in value the closer the 'all new cars must be EV' mandate comes out..

    Yep-just bought a 2008 in October with 44k miles on it. Well maintained but low to mid $40's is where price is currently, and seems to be rising due in part to videos like this one. Very glad i bought it!!!

    Once I got to drive my brother's pristine 89 Taurus SHO and my buddy's 06 Cayman S back-to-back in the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. Both have very special engines, the Cayman has a buttery smooth shifter, and the Taurus is really easy to enjoy at speed since the powerful seat bolsters allow you to concentrate on what you're doing. Both cars are a hell of a lot of fun.

Heck 2 of my trucks in my driveway right now both have over 200k and the f150 is knocking on the 300k mark. I also have 2 bmws one with 150k and the n54 I own has bout 125k. the full natural leather interior option is unfortunately not often specified. it's a pity in that the option makes the cayman's "OK" interior something special.

  • @autoobsessivegarage

    @autoobsessivegarage

    2 жыл бұрын

    Agreed that the Cayman interior is not exactly opulent, but I do find that it accurately reflect the more focused less frilly nature of the Cayman as a sports car. The full leather just notches the interior up that a fair amount more.
