    Thank you for making this video! My wife has been wanting a new stereo just like this, but we didn't want it in the cubby either. Thanks!

    you may not need this advice anymore, but removing the clock setup as well makes things super easy to do in there as it gives you another access point. i put an fm modulator in my 07 and removing the clock was a small extra step but it made getting to that stud in the rear alot easier and freed up some extra arm space.

    I looked on both websites, I can't find one for the Endeavor. I found some for the Lancer, Montero, Eclipse, Raider, Galant, & Outlander. Can you share the link please. Thank you

    Thank for the video. I just replace my radio. This gave me some good advice and confidence. Did you have to reset you SRS light on the dash?

    For the life of me, I just can't pry off the three connectors on the bottom for the HVAC controls... I've tried for mor than 2 hours, and have no idea what to do... They just won't come out. I have an aux cord ready to be installed also, it's driving me insane.

    easy way to mark a hole for drilling is to get a small screw the right thread size cut the head off and file it to a sharp centre point ! screw into hole leavimg a small amount of protrusion, fit the plate over the top ofitand gentlytap with a hammer, this will give you an exact mark for drilling,

    I don't know, I didn't have that problem but I have read a few other people did. Try disconnecting the battery wait 10 minutes reconnect and start the vehicle, it may clear or reset itself. Good luck

    Thanks for this video. It is really helpful as I am about to attempt this. Did you ever figure out how to get the error code off on the old radio display?

  • @gdk229

    @gdk229

    10 жыл бұрын

    It says error because the radio isn't communicating with the display module once you replace the stereo. I was thinking about cutting the wire to the old display module but I haven't gone back and attempted this yet, it doesn't really bother me. Thanks for watching.

    +Anabel Villarreal I think so? I used what's called a double din but with enough ingenuity and craftsmanship I'm a firm believer anything can be done. The Stereo shop I originally went to told me replacing the stereo in the same place couldn't be done, they wanted to install it in front of the cup holders/gear shifter No way! Never let anyone tell you it can't be done. Good luck!

    Thank you so much for making this video. I have a grey 2005 mitsubishi endeavor I've had it since 2006 and I love my car, it's been loyal to me and I've taken it all over the country. but I hate the fact that I can't listen to my music on my phone or my ipod so I always have to keep making new cd's. I'm so gonna try to do this, my question is where did you find that trim to put on the outside?

    Hey man on eBay you can find a custom bezel made for a double din radio.

  • @gdk229

    @gdk229

    That's a really good find, thank you for sharing that I really appreciate it. However the cost is much greater at $280.00 plus $35.00 for shipping = $315.00 Plus another $200.00 for a stereo = $515.00 (ouch!) Personally had my vehicle been a lot newer I think I would spent the extra money for the custom bezel. Another option: Later I found out you can purchase a fiberglass kit layup your dash panel, sand it all out, repaint it for a custom fit just like the one on Ebay. However it's gonna be much more time consuming: lay up, dry time, sanding, and painting. Definitely more than a 2 or 3 hr job. Thanks again and good luck.

    Hey, i am attempting this myself with a radio my friend is going to give me. Anyone have any idea where i can find a dash trim that is better for this than cutting? I ha an FM modulator setup and the guy washing the car today threw out my switch with the garbage and looking around for solutions for bluetooth instead I found your video. I hate this panel. It is the thorn in my side. lol Any and all help is appreciated because I cannot live without music on my iphone. Pls help.

    Muse TD The whole purpose of this video was an alternative to installing an additional stereo in the cubby, which sits in front of 2 cup holders and the gear shifter. Plus it leaves the stock stereo sitting there dead and useless. Why didn't the company you paid install it where the existing stereo was? You have succumbed my friend, well as I said in this video "it's your vehicle do whatever you want with it, as long as you're happy with it.

    +chris wallace I didn't have the infinity sound system. I would look into purchasing the wiring harness it makes the job a lot easier. You can also check with a car audio shop or shop on-line. I bought my parts at a store called Crutchfield, Good luck to you
