Great video Pete! I have a 2000 GMC Sierra 2500 with the 6.0. It's leaking coolant down the back of the engine. I think it's coming from the coolant crossover pipe under the intake. GM has discontinued the pipe. Have you run into that situation? I see Dorman makes a kit that blocks off the rear ports and just uses the front ports with an adjoining tube. I understand that is how the later engines are set up. What disconnect tool do you recommend for the fuel lines?

Hey Lieser, I don't have any experience fixing the front or rear cross over pipes, never had a leaking one yet. As for the fuel line any disconnect tool for that size line should work, I like to use those cheap plastic scissors style. I would think an adjoining tube would be fine. I have a video of me pulling the intake on a 2006 2500 6.0 kzread.info/dash/bejne/X5NqtJt6hcfRZbQ.html Thanks.

Thanks Pete! I'll check out that video. I hope its not the cylinder head freeze plug. The truck has 315k miles on it. I don't mind pulling the intake. I don't want to get involved with the cylinder head. No room between the firewall and head to install a freeze plug.

If so you could use a prybar and socket and pry it in. You could also get an expandible rubber or bronze plug too, which I do not recommend. I wish I could take a look at it.

I need to verify where the leak is. Waiting on a cooling system pressure tester to arrive. I wouldn't trust an expandable rubber plug.
