bro this video helped out so much and i’m so glad i was able to fix my 02 sensor. I was getting like 13-16 MPG and car wouldn’t idle correctly now i’m back on the road, these cars are bulletproof mine is close to 300,000 miles 💪🏻

How is your mpg now honestly before I decide to try and change mine. I was getting like 14-16 mpg before I changed my pcv valve air filter and cleaned throttle and maf sensor now I’m at 17-19, city driving is350. I’m looking to do what’s quicker and cheaper before replacing fuel filter

I replace bank 2 a few weeks ago now my engine light and my tracking light is on. Is it possible that it could be bank one sensor or something else can someone please help me out is250

very good explain why it is the upstream O2 sensors. my car has p0171 with similar mileage, I am convinced now it is the same cause by the o2 sensor after some trouble shooting myself.

The upstream sensors are more important because they monitor what comes out of the engine. The downstream sensors just monitor what comes out of the catalytic converters.

Great useful video! I do have a question. I'm getting a p2197 bank 2 sensor 1 signal biased/stuck lean. Which, according to the video, it's s the one on the driver's side top correct? Also do you think the sensor is bad or, like, in your case, could be something else? I recently replaced my battery, and the code came on then. Thanks in advance.

Yes bank 2 is the driver side. Sensor 1 is always the top sensor. First you should check for vacuum leaks and the harness going to the O2 sensor or give the MAF sensor a good cleaning, then possibly replace the PCV valve. Last thing is check the ECT sensor and wire harness. If you haven't replaced the air filter, nows a good time.

Thank you for sharing! I'm at the point of trying to unplug the electrical wires behind Bank 2 Driver side of my Lexus IS350. How did you manage this? I've been using one hand behind the block to press the tab to disconnect the plug. I tied dental floss to the 02 Sensor to have my wife pull and hopefully disconnect the connection between the wires and the 02 sensor. How did you do it? Jeff Grant Mooresville NC USA

I have big hands and it was a tight fit. You just have to keep at it until you get it. A mirror helps.

You can get them off any way you want. Just be careful not to strip them and they end up stuck. The socket isn't expensive, you can get it from any local parts store.

did you have any issues with power steering after change b1s1? the passenger side one. i saw many comments on other videos where they get issues and need recalibrating. if not, how did you ensure you didn’t have any issues?

No I have zero issues with anything. No CEL codes, car runs perfect. Those people probably forgot to plug up that power steering computer under the battery lol.

4. 2 upstream and 2 downstream. It's the same 350 engine as I have in my sedan.

@@MatteoTodd 3 would make zero sense bro. The 350 engine has a catalytic converter on each bank so that means a sensor before the cat and a sensor after the cat, which equals 4. The 350 engine is the same across all models. GS, IS, ISc etc. Don't believe those iffy websites, Call the dealership and ask them how many you have.

GS and IS have the exact same engine so the same codes and same parts apply.

Are the upstream sensors the same? For ex. i would be able to buy two of the same sensors and use one for each side? Or are they different sensors even tho they’re both upstream. Same question for both downstream if you know by chance. Thank you!

Both upstream are the same. Both downstream are the same. The upstream wire harness is different from the downstream ones. Most cars work that way.

@@ryan7235 They are great cars, just stay on top of the maintenance and it will treat you good. Oil changes are very important for the timing chain. Use Mobil 1 high mileage. 👍

Under the battery is the passenger side and that's bank 1.

Most O2 sensor tools are the same size. These are 22mm

That code is a catalyst system below efficiency. It's either a O2 sensor or the catalytic converter is on its way out. How is the car driving?

@@Jedi_Luke seems to be driving fine, no loss of power or funky smells that I’ve noticed anyways. I just picked it up a week ago and they said it was an o2 and I scanned it at home and got the p0420 code.

@@cornball303 Gotcha. I've never had that code, I was getting P0174 system too lean. I'd start with the O2 sensors first, both upstream sensors. Clear the codes and see if it comes back. That's cheaper than buying a new catalytic converter. Get quality sensors tho, cuz cheap ones will either not work correctly or not last long.

No unfortunately. I never had a cat issue with really any of my cars. It's not a hard job, just spray the bolts down with PB blaster and let it sit overnight. Work on it the next morning. Only work on a cold engine. You're gonna need some ramps or good jack stands.

Dang I replaced the drivers side which means I replaced a good sensor, so now I need to replace the passenger side (Bank 1, sensor 1) is it the same sensor I'm asking this cuz the wire on the passenger side looks longer. Should I order the same part?

Just go on eBay and type in your car and oxygen sensors. Don't get the super cheap ones.
