2005 Toyota High lander 3.3 front lower control arms/power steering pump and lines

This job jumped up and bit me in the rear!! Then again the in my opinion the Camry is the only Toyota made that is easy to work on.....oh and the toyota Celica......Replaced front lower control arms, power steering pump, power steering high pressure line and low pressure line.....thanks for watching and your support!

I love your description of spending all day trying to get a bolt on, (2:41) coming back the next day after a cup of coffee and boom goes right in😂. Been there, done that! The joys of auto repair. Thanks a lot for this video, it convinced me that there is no way I am going to try to put in a power steering pump in my 2005 Toyota Highlander. I just replaced the emergency brake cables in my garage, and that took pretty much most of the day, wasn’t that bad but I don’t have a lift which makes it difficult rolling around the ground on a creeper at 58 years old.

My recommendation for that rear mount is remove all 5 bolts (2 bottom, 2 top and the main center bolt) which is what I did recently. Obviously with engine jacked up. I tried just removing and replacing just the bolt at first but that was not working for me especially with the two rubber pieces that come with the mount. Removed all the bolts and it was easy. Thanks for posting!

Great job brother keep up the good work 🇯🇲. My question is was it hard to remove the power steering pump? I have a job to replace one soon reason the steering is tough not turning and no oil is leaving it's a 05 Highlander hybrid. And the p/s light is on. Any info wld really be helpful thanks

Hi Matt, On my 2002 Toyota Highlander 3.0L FWD (326k miles), getting ready to replace both front control arms (worn out bushings). You made great pair of videos - inspired confidence to replace myself instead of paying $1,100 to a shop. Also, power steering pump finally wore out on mine too. Q: On the existing pump, neither line is leaking - is replacement necessary?

Hey guy! I got this power steering line job coming up. The book calls for 1.3 hours. Is that a reasonable time?

i would factor in 2. This way you have enough time to do the job with no stress and also time to check your work ensuring the owner gets the upmost in service. worse case scenario you tell them you are going to charge them for 2 hours and you get it done in 1 and a half hours :) or less. they will love you for this. remember that all data and Mitchell get their book times from technicians who are working on brand new cars in the perfect conditions. :) if you want I can email you a math formula I use for my business that will show how spending an extra 30 mins or an hour on a job afterwards to make sure everything is is 110 percent can pay off for your customer and also pay of for you in the long run. I can also show you how to properly charge for such a thing. email me at highgrooveauto30@gmail.com

I went to the shop today too have my vehicle checked out because when I turn my wheel I'm hearing a winding noise the vehicle is not hard to turn but it is leaking slightly. They told me it was my rack and pinion and said it'll cost 1,200 dollars which I think is ridiculous do you think I should pay that for them to replace that or could it possibly be something else PLEASE LET ME KNOW
