Glad it helped! There is another video out there - but the guy had a stereo cut out and made his fix a lot easier then those of us with normal door setups.

Awesome video! I really liked how you showed how to get the door open and the things you learned along the way. And bending the rod trick....was awesome! Thanks for helping me out!

Thank you for making this video. Getting the rod hooked into place is a little tricky. I used the bailing wire/zip tie to secure it as I could not get the plastic replacement around the rod completely. Used some needle nose pliers to lift the rod from the side latch to release the door.

Thanks for the fix. I couldn't figure out how to get to my bottom latch. I saw the video where the guy had the speaker there too but I don't have one. Once I saw how you did it, I was able to fix mine in less than 30 minutes.

Use Dorman 75455 clip from autozone. Was $7buck. They have another one that’s an assortment. But this one’s a single one and fit great

Thanks for the little tutorial for a simple fixed that helped me with the same issue. That green plastic broke off probably due to over time shutting door. Were you able to find that green piece that connected the rod to the frame?

No - I'm not sure they sell that clip separately. I just put the rod back in the hole, and bent it slightly.

No problem - glad the video was helpful.

Did same job but used screwdriver and needle nose pliers thru the removed edge handle cavity to open the door and once latch assembely nuts are removed I bent the top of the lower rod into a hook and reinstalled with no clip. Start to finish 15 minutes.

Fixed without a trip to the auto parts store thank you also the two clips on top 90 % of those truck have them broke the sun will just cooked those overtime

Mine is all connected but won't open the top of the door moves when move handle and bottom catch is moving but won't release. I took the 4 nuts off of bottom catch. Any other ideas people

Unfortunately - I only disassembled the middle and lower rods. I didn't even look at the upper assembly.

@@bonecrrusherSS ya bud but it's a 2005 WI vehicle so the bottom latch is still hooked up to the rod just fine. What I mean is. Second door d side haven't been opened in like 12 years I don't want to tear it apart now I'm in the upper peninsula so mess with it when I get back. Aneu ideas send them my way ok thanks

@@bonecrrusherSS I have the door all apart, but it is still locked closed. I am planning to cut the lower lock out with a die grinder and wiz wheel today. I can not get it to release. I ordered the replacement parts yesterday. A liberal coat of wd-40 last evening may save me today, but I am doubtful.
