This worked for me. It started intermittently, then completely stopped blowing cold air. I replaced the relay on my wife's 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring and now it's blowing cold air! Thanks for the video! Happed to go to the junk yard for a different car and got the relay for very little.

Same for me- my 2007 Odyssey is a pile of JUNK!! But this did the trick.

Dude!!!! This totally is my issue! I’m in Jackson Hole on vacation. Not a good time to lose AC. I switched the relays and cold air was blowing again! I will hit an auto parts store in the morning and enjoy AC on my way back home for the 4-5 hour ride. Thanks!!!!!!

Great tip! Thank you so much. I just tried this on a 2009 Honda Odyssey which has not been driven over past 6 months due to Covid related travel limitations. @@BrianBalatbat OReilly parts sold me each relay part for $6.99 -- seems like generic brand "Import Direct" OE Replacement Part - part number 25-0395 (39794-SDA-A03). There were no spec written on the box nor the relay item itself. The original relay has this written on it: OMRON G8HL-H71 12VDC 120OOhm -- O5Y8A121. I replaced two of the relays that I switched.

I have a question for you. I had the same problem...I took it to pepboys and they charged me to suction and fill with freeon i guess. But its not working again after 6 weeks... What would your suggestion br.. They are telling me $1500.00 for a new unit...

I went to a repair shop, the mechanic said it would cost between 200-400 dollars to diagnose. I spoke with my know it all friend he said try the relay first, (usually you can return it if it doesn’t work)purchased the relay and boom, it turned over and lovely a/c . I filled the Freon too all for about 70 bucks.

Hey, I replaced my compressor my fans it's kind of working but it don't blow hard like when I first got it, it just blow soft with little coolness. Do you think it can still be the relay? Haven't changed both of the filters yet that's what I'm doing tomorrow but if that don't do it, what is my next step? Relay? Thank you!

Hi, yes make sure you replace the bad one with a new one or your cooling fan will not work.

Switching the relays is just a quick way to see if that’s what’s causing the ac to now work, if ac works after switching the relay then replace the bad one.

Excellent troubleshooting tips! Taking a known-good relay and checking to see if that's the issue or not. I also found-out that there is a motor at the bottom of the footwell that switches the vents from hot/cold? I also tried to change that motor in the past but it was difficult to remove. I'm hoping that it's not that again as I've already resold the part that I ordered to replace it. The A/C going out was temporary and intermittent before it showed the issue in the past but now it appears it's gone bad for good.

Mr. Tuckers if it’s intermittent check the compressor clutch if it’s turning on and off, if it is then hook up an ac gauge and check if it’s low.

@@BrianBalatbat I swapped out the 12VDC relay with the known good one and that fixed the issued. I was curious to see what that 2nd relay was for and good thing I went into the house to look it up because I was going to leave that good relay in there for the A/C. That known good relay was taken from the Radiator fan. Imagine if I had not put that back. 😬 I went ahead and bought a 2 pack of relays for $10 from Amazon.

Eric Mitchell hi, first thing you need to check is if you have the right amount of freeon in the system. If you do and it’s still not working, check and see if you are getting power to the compressor.

It’s the fan relay, you can buy it from the an auto parts store or Amazon.

It was a simple fix and really worked 🙏

Kevin Phair no problem, tell them the year and model of your van and you need the AC Relay, or you can pull out the relay and bring it to the parts store and compare them.
