I miss early 2000’s college football. It has more of an edge than today’s game. Plus, no stupid targeting.

No targeting, no spoiled “NIL” athletes so the players back then played with passion and heart and with something to actually prove because they wanted to make a name for themselves and get drafted you just don’t see that same type of passion anymore oh and don’t get me started about players sitting out

Oklahoma would have been better off and might have had a chance to win this game had backup QB Paul Thompson got the start instead of Jason White who clearly was injured and not himself all night long. Thompson saw plenty of action playing in 10 games that year as the backup QB and his athletic mobility might have made the difference against LSU's defense.

I dont know if White injured his arm/wrist/hand in the conf championship or what but he just looked awful in this game. I'll give LSUs defence credit for some of that but he was missing open receivers all night. And he became a sidewinder all the sudden.

@@afridgetoofar1818 Negative sir. The U. S. Census Bureau defines Midwest as Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. We are in the Great Plains which is aa sub region itself, just as the Appalachians are a sub-region, but we are in the Southern Plains alongside of Texas. The Midwest starts in Kansas. We're not DEEP SOUTH (which is really the Gulf Coast) but We are South Centrally located. The Confederacy used Oklahoma Indian Territory as a hub and fought 2 battles there. We are below the 38th Parallel, we border the Midwest like Arkansas and Tennessee do, our culture is Texas-Southwest, Southern Mississippi Valley and Southeast and a sprinkle of Midwest just as Arkansas and Tennesse. We have nothing in common with the Midwest at large, we are far more southern, hence the reason we are in the SEC (Mizzou only got a pass because of the states Southern Boothill southern culture and historically the Missouri compromise.) Southeast Oklahoma is a straight shot to Greenville Mississippi and NE Oklahoma only goes as far north as VA Beach region. #Boomer

One of the games I'll never let go. LSU wasn't good. Oklahoma was better than the 14 points.

OU had 154 total yards lol. They struggled to score inside the 5. Needed an offsides to get them to the inch line before scoring that first TD. The game should have been more lopsided honestly.

Just watched all the way through at the end when that commentator came up to Bob Stoops and said better luck next year. I hope to God he was not commentating anything else after that. That was a really really good game. Oklahoma made a lot of mistakes that was killing them.but why would you come up to Bob Stoops ordinate Sabin or any top coach that made it to the national championship and say better luck next year. Hell no that’s disrespectful. I like Bob stoops response. Very classic! Great game.
