Thank you so much for making this! I just started driving and working on my own Elantra about a year ago, and this is the best repair video I've seen yet. I love the casual, laid-back attitude and simple explanations. After watching, I feel confident that I'm not going to electrocute myself and set the engine on fire 😂 I can dig it!

I love your down to earth candor, you talk like a normal guy and not some snobby look at me type dude. I'm going to soon be replacing the valve cover gasket on my 2002 Elantra because it's leaking oil now and figure to might as well do my spark plugs at the same time. Your video helped to confirm how to do it properly... Thanks for your clear and no nonsense how to video.😎👍

Hey, how'd the repair go? I'm here for the exact same thing. Valve cover gasket was leaking oil on the plugs/wires. Any tips for me before I start? 😂

Experimental question: I have 06 malibu 2.2 engine. I unplugged my crank sensor to see if the car still runs and it does. I successfully started it multiple times with it being unplugged. I noticed the PCM controls IC timing control A and B (with test light to positive I fired the spark plugs). My question is does the crank sensor serve a purpose within my case study? I wish I can upload the screenshot of BBB wiring diagram.

I'm wondering if that system is similar to some Chrysler and Mercedes models, where the crank sensor send the signal to activate spark, BUT, if the sensor fails, the ecm will use the cam sensor for reference.

The ignition control module consist of: ignition 1 voltage which comes from the fuse, ground, camshaft signal, IC Timing Control A and B. So a total of five wires at the ICM. The diagram of the ICM doesn't list the crank sensor.

Okay, I just looked it up, and no, the crank sensor is used for ignition timing, fuel injector timing, and misfire diagnosis. What is the problem you're having with the car?

Mate I wish you guys were in Australia, lots of mobile mechanics now that the cost of running a garage is so expensive and you'd never run out of work, if the govt can set up the African & Indian migrants why can't they do it for the Americans. 😟🙌
