Hi Jacob just wanted to say your video helped me out a lot. This was much easier than the service bulletin that Honda had issued regarding this issue. The longest part was really just cleaning the 'corrosion' the best I could before assembling it back together.

Hey Jacob, at first I was disappointed that mine is not rusted but I cleaned it anyway since it’s already open and that when I noticed that the ground screw was not tight at all that I can swing the bracket with minimal effort . It works now after I tightened the screw, I would never ever find the problem even if I buy a new switch and radio. I had this problem over 10 yrs ...lol. Thanks a million and I’m so glad I found your video🍺🍺🍺.

Thanks for this. Fixed my problem. One thing though - there's no need to remove the top and bottom plastic covers, and they're a huge pain to put back!

Glad it helped. Yes, sorry I didn't mention about the covers. I had everything torn apart to try and diagnose the problem. That's why they are off.

Thanks for the quick response Jacob, I’m gonna try to clean the ground first this weekend. Do I have to remove the hard shell first in order to get into the screws that hold the airbag? Thanks again

I would disconnect the battery before getting anywhere near messing with the air bag. if I remember correctly there is a snap in/out plastic cover on the under side of the steering wheel column. once you pop that out there are a couple fasteners in there that need to be removed. they hold in the air bag. also disconnect the main feed wire for air bag while working in there. feed should be inside that plastic cover.

Hello, I have 2004 odyssey and the buttons located on the steering wheel for the radio sometimes don’t work/operate properly (the button arrow-up changes the station and the lower button-arrow down turned up the volume) any advice or suggestion if this is the culprit? Thanks

Hello Nilo, So, I'm not an expert technician, though I do tare apart and fix lots of stuff, but there are only a couple things you can do without specific equipment to test all the wiring. If it were me I would clean up the connections inside the steering wheel like the video shows. If that doesn't help you could replace the switch. Lastly and the most expensive option is to replace the radio. I have done all three and cleaning the connections is what worked for me, though it is not always 100% either. I think I remember getting a replacement odyssey radio for around 100. Good luck!

@@nilolee2426 sorry I'm just seeing this message. there should be a plastic panel under the steering column that pops out. once opened there should be, if I remember correctly, 2 screws holding in the air bag system. also there is a wire connector that has to be unclipped for the air bag. very important to take that apart so nothing happens with the it bag while take out or install.
