Great inf, your right the other channels and sites do not mention this information because they profit off various options to chose from that will not remedy the issue

The SOS module is on the roof below the shark antenna. The most common problem with the module is the battery that wears out over time. It is located in the module itself

Question ❓ so before u swapped the ask unit was the CD and CD changer showing up greyed out while the other options like radio stayed white?

I have e65 it's such a good car but I feel all the issues with zgm module, oil leaks, Radio cd issue, phone issue. This car is headache.

Is this plug and play or do you need to program it?

Hi man! Have exactly the same problem, looking to buy now the face lift ask unit now but came across 2 different part number which is 9 110 850 and 6 970 260. Is there any important difference on them? Both are facelift. My beauty is 2004..... Some part sellers inform me that it won't work as non facelift to facelift and other way around too, apparently. But anyway want to implement your advice. Grateful in advance for your advice!

I have a problem with the radio because i can't hear it (no audio). So if i put a CD i can hear it, but if i want to listen to the radio i cannot hear it because of the audio.

Does ask unit needs programming?

Repair your old ask unit. Tda8563 chips two piece solder it and all good

Check fuse radio 2,65 30 ampere

So did the trim around the ask unit from the 08 fit in your 04 ?

Jaime I have a question maybe you can give me an idea. I have a 2006 bmw 750li my break lights won't turn off when the vehicle is on. I don't have to push the break to start the car I just push the start button it saids GEAR ENGAGED WITH OUT BREAK POSS I changed the brake switch and nothing still the same hopefully you might have an idea
