You said it. This is the perfect power level for a miata. You can wind it out and make it work for it but not too hard. Fast but not too fast. Just right. That's what it's about. Really a thing of beauty when well executed like this.
Always love seeing this yata on the channel! Idk what I love more the fact that its comfortably pushing 220, or that I'm listening to a Miata with no lifter tick !!!
Super happy sounding car. I love these things. It just takes you to the very essence of driving, just with more power in this case and the addition of turbo noises :))
Love my car being on this channel, learning how to drive my 2004 NB and loving it so far
Love it when you review older cars. Great video on a great vehicle :)

i've had my gr86 for a 2 weeks now and I am currently trying to sell it for a new miata. All these RTV warranty issues are putting me back to the nightmares I went through with my 2015 Subaru Sti. What's smooth about putting the gear in neutral and wasting the poor fellas "track pads" when he miscalculates the speed and makes the brakes work harder because there's no engine braking?
@loganjames4607
Жыл бұрын
All in the clutch work. Slip the clutch for just a short moment as the rpms fall during a gear change and the rpm will synchronize perfectly before any significant engine load is applied to the drivetrain again. Removes the herky jerky feeling, saves drivetrain components and bushings, and doesn't really affect clutch life much. Basically, just don't let the clutch out so fast during gear changes.
Nicee, I love cars are looking like from fabric but with a mor power than serial :d
I guess this is why BBR's 225 kit for the NC and ND are so popular!
I had MX5 of this kind. It can be very quick car but in order to be quick it needs as must semi slick tires, improved brakes calipers etc and suspension.

I didn't have an issue with that, if I remember with my IC piping I fed it through the power steering lines somehow. I had to weave it between a couple to make room

Why are you getting rid of it, keep them both!
Not sure if it's just something vibrating but it sounds like the engine is pinging at 4:32 as it approaches the limiter.
Does flying Miata still sell turbo kits for the N.A. Miata?
11:21 That’s the worst part about the BRZ; it’s just as fast as the GR86 and it’s comfortable. 😂

How many miles did the car have on it when he added this turbo kit?

I love my NB to death and I can only see myself selling it to get an S2000, GR86 or second gen Boxster
As a (recent) 6 speed owner, first time, for the stock setup I really prefer the 6 speed. Your hands are always busy with something, and you're always in the power. If I ever go turbo (again), a 5 speed is definitely the move, otherwise you're going to be shifting like crazy with those short ratios
@alicebate6384
Жыл бұрын
5 speed is known to be weak. I'd recommend a 6 speed with a 3.33 rear end. Which is just like a 5 speed but stronger and gives you an extra gear for a theoretical top speed of 180mph.
@LateNightCable
8 ай бұрын
@@alicebate63845-speed is known to be weak? That’s incorrect, in fact it’s the reverse. It’s a stronger box than the six. One reason racers widely prefer the five. It can handle all the power a Miata should have - like in the video. It would be perfect with an OD 6th gear, but whatever.
@jayjacaty3009
5 ай бұрын
You got that backwards. The 6 speeds are much stronger than the 5 speed in Miatas. 5 speeds have slightly better shift feel, but they give up the ghost right about at the limit of the stock connecting rods.
how much was this car sold for?
Where's the 4k?
Still one of the only cars that compares to the S2000 in terms of fun factor on the road.
