@@phyllishundredfarts1345Also, speaking as a Kiwi, so not even English for crying out loud, I'd like to say what an unsporting prick you are for that comment. The England team of 2003 won a great game against our neighbours, the Aussies, so for you to come and disparage a fan for his comment with an immature comment in Irish (by the way, my original comment was in English, old English), just shows what kind of character you are. I've been playing rugby since I was 4 years old, we are born with a rugby ball in our hands over here in the NZ, still playing now at 42 - 7 openside flanker - in Welly (sorry, Wellington) and the sportsmanship is likely the part of the game that keeps me in it most, it's what I love most about it and people like you, who have none, you're not a rugby fan, you're the worst fringe part of my sport. Now crawl back under whatever stone you came out from beneath. Oh, hope you enjoyed the lesson we taught your boys yesterday? Ireland choked again. Not nice when someone disparages your national team or it's fans, is it? Luckily most Irish fans aren't as pathetic as you and are a great, friendly and sporting bunch of guys n gals. God it annoys me, so called 'rugby fans' like you. No wonder a lot of the natives here in Welly dislike the Irish so much - likely due to the slaughter at the hands of Irish settlers they were met upon with.

After their performance against Wales yesterday, I believe they have it in them to win a RWC sooner rather than later. I'm a Kiwi myself but look, your lads, the Pumas, they're a great team, so keep pulling for your boys because they're fully deserving. To be fair, it's always better at the world cup when we have teams such as Argentina, England, Ireland etc at their strongest, it makes the tournament a spectacle to behold and as someone who has been playing rugby all my life (number 7, openside flanker), I fall in love with the sport all over again at each world cup.

12 years prior to this match, the 2 sides met in the 1991 RWC Final at Twickenham. The Wallabies prevailed on English soil. For England, this was the ultimate way to get their revenge; revenge that had been coming for 12 years: A role reversal from 1991, except this would become (and still is) the only RWC Final to go to extra time. Sydney being the venue, the rest is history…

I love England and love the blood, sweat tears those blokes put in for us the Country and fans but guess what? after learning about Steve Thompson early onset I hate to say it but that lads 42 years old and now talks about what rugby has taken away from him, things have gotta change and stop treating the players as fighting dogs cos thats exactly what they are doing something must change otherwise lots more young men and women will end up not knowing their families cos of the extensive contact training where the brain i like a jelly being smashed around their skulls yet I don’t want padding and helmets cos it would kill the game and make us look daft and stupid like those pricks in the States, big discussion is desperately needed. Steve.

Why did Australia kick it out at the end with 2 minutes to go you dont want to kick it out so England can win the line out then kick for goal, Why not just run it and run down the clock maybe even get a try or drop goal yourself but no 30 seconds left they kick it out WHY ? that's how England got the ball back !!!! Run the ball untill the the end ,

Because tactically an opposition lineout on halfway is better than open play on your goal line. One mistake "running the clock down" and you're losing.

6:14 Never realised that the english player kicked larkham in the face and split is lip open. It was a fair penalty to England for Larkham holding onto the player, but then it should've been a reverse penalty for for kicking him in the head with malice intent. In todays rugby thats a red card lol, back then maybe just a yellow.

Everyone talks about how big Wilkinson’s testicular fortitude was to make that kick, and its absolutely true. But not enough people talk about how big Dawson’s balls are for thinking “I need to run this to get Johnny in a better position for the kick” One wrong move and he’d have cost them BIG

Oh I whole heartedly agree. I've said this many times. For me personally both Dawson & Greenwood's subtle actions go unnoticed but those who see these acts of play understand just how pivotal they are to winning. High risk to high reward.
