the saddest part of this song is that there's really no ending for the story as woozi doesn't even know himself, and maybe he will never get the chance to know. the story just stopped, somewhere else in their youth journey.

To carats who wants a studio version of this... He said so himself he intended to sing it only once in a lifetime so this song carries deeper meaning than it seems to be... Idk but for me, maybe we should just be silent about the studio version. If Woozi doesn't release it, we must respect it. If he does release it officially one day, then we support him in every way possible. We love Lee Jihoon either way ❤️😭

this isn't just about his one solo, it's about all of their solos. if they clarify they just don't want to release them for personal reasons then i would understand, despite the disappointment, but right now it's all conjecture

No, they never said that they don't want to release it. Mingyu and Hoshi said it in Vlive that it's PLEDIS' decision. Hoshi said that he wanted to release it but the company said it's not the right time yet. Pledis confirm it by saying that they want to focus on group activities than having them go solo. It's a smart decision because SVT themselves so strong that Jun said if they go alone.. they always lack. Pledis want to focus on that and it's a good strategy knowing that Woozi said he loves to go together as a team rather go alone. They will release it judging by Hoshi and Mingyu's words but they just need the right timing :)

Oh.. from the second i heard this song i already loved it, but if he doesn't release the song officially and its his decision, I'm ok with it. plus I can just go back to youtube and listen to it over and over and over again.

The fact that the studio version will finally be released but under such a sad circumstance. We all know how personal it is for Woozi and now that he’s willing to even fight the company just to release it as a gift on Moonbin’s birthday, it’s just a lot more painful this time.

the 2018 ver and the studio version somehow feels different. it was sad and full of anger and confusion, but in the studio ver it feels like a lullaby while watching the moonlight, sad but its found its peace…

정말 맞는 말이에요ㅠㅠ이건 우지만의 감성과 우지의 목소리가 아니면 절대 부를 수 없는 노래 동감합니다!! 아니 타 가수분들이 커버를 하실 순 있겠지만 진짜 어떤 미래는 우지가 부르는 노래는 절대로 커버가 될 수가 없는거같아요. 그만큼 우지만의 감성,보이스,장악력이 다른 어떤 가수들보다 잘 살려서 노래를 하는거같아요. 아무래도 자기가 작곡작사해서 쓴 노래라서 더 그랬겠죠ㅎㅎ그래서 너무 좋아요. 어떤 리뷰하는 분들도 우지의 노래를 알기전까지와 우지의 노래를 알고 난 후의 노래 잘하는 사람이라는 시각이 바꼈다고 했어요. 그게 완전 이해가 됩니다. 우지는 물론 높은 음도 깨끗이 잘 올라가지만 고음을 막 지르지않아도 그저 평온하게 불러도 엘프의 노래같이 들린달까요? 정말 따뜻하면서도 슬프고 그런 노래에 정말 최고로 잘 맞는 감성과 목소리인거같아요.

The way woozi looks so defeated after finishing the lyrics and the way he takes a deep breath at 4:03 makes me think that this song was written about an episode of his life that breaks him alot. And i guess him singing those lyrics makes him think about those times and maybe thats why he dosent want to sing it so much/release an offical ver. He could of made this song to release how he feels about that episode cuz he said that he expresses his emotions through his writing. I do hope that he doesn't feel pressured to release the song just because people keep asking him, it would mean reliving those painful memories again and again and i rather not get a studio ver if it would hurt woozi.

노래랑 어울리는 이야기내요..

근데 되게 신기한게... 처음 어떤 미래 부를 때에는 금발에 흰 옷을 입었고 두번 째 부를 때에는 흑발에 흰 옷을 입었고 세번 째 부를 때는 흑발에 검은 옷이야... 노린건지 우연인지는 모르겠지만 이상하게 엄청 신기하네요

Once again want to congratulate Carats on understanding his wishes so well. The audience stayed so appropriately quiet, with only our Jihoon's voice filling up the stadium. There was no ridiculous yelling or shouting and only respectful clapping at the end. This is exactly how this song should be treated

빈이가 좋아한 이유를 알겠네..... 음질이 안 좋은데도 노래가 좋네요. 음색도 좋고. 잘 부르고... 빈이 다음 생일까지 기다리겠습니다.

검은 옷 입으니까 마음에 노래 가사들이 더 와 닿는 거 같아요... 흰 옷 입었을 때는 조금의 희망이라도 붙잡고 그 희망을 향해 노래를 부르는 느낌이았다면 검은 옷은 이제 남은 게 하나도 없어서 다시 모든 걸 되찾고 싶어서 악을 쓰면서 노래를 부르는 느낌이에요ㅠㅠㅠ 그니까 한 마디로 흰옷 : 나 버리지마... 나 아직 손 잡고 있잖아... 그냥 이대로 끌어당겨서 올려주면 안돼?? 검은 옷 : 나 버려졌구나... 그치만 널 잊진 못하겠어... 내가 처음부터 다시 시작할게 조금만 기다려줘...

이 곡에 무슨 사연이 있는지는 모르겠으나.. 이 노래를 부를때는 엄청 생각이 많아지시는 거 같아요. 딱 1번만 부르려다가 벌써 3번째 부른다 라고 하시는걸 봐서는 발매는... 안나올거 같고, 그냥 이렇게 좋은 노랠 알게 되었다는 것에 감사하겠습니다. 노래 너무 잘들었습니다!

This is my first time hearing this song after Woozi mentioned he was going to release this song in honor of Moonbin and while I've always known Woozi is insanely talented and puts his all in singing every Seventeen song, holy crap I had no idea he could sing like this. You can literally see his veins and how he's putting every part of his soul into singing this song because of how personal it is to him. The circumstances that this song might finally be released is unfortunate but it really shows how much Woozi cared and misses Moonbin. I hope he knows every Carat will fight alongside him to make his wish come true and that it will reach Moonbin wherever he is.

1st time listening to this : I NEED THE STUDIO VERSION OF THIS MASTERPIECE 2nd time listening to this for encore con : PLS RELEASE THIS 😭 3rd time listening to this : now i know why it's hasn't released officially yet. The way woozi sang this song is really proving that this song is very special & personal for him. it must be smt about his life/experiences. He chose to let special people listen to this for the first time which is to carats. as much as i want What Kind of Future to be released officially on melon or any music streaming platforms, but if woozi himself decided not to release it since it means special & personal for him, then we should respect his decision. ❤

Actually I’m pretty sure Hoshi and mingyu said they want to release the songs but it’s up to Pledis. He didn’t expect to sing it again other than that one concert. So I think him singing it here was kind of like a surprise

I came back here as Woozi will be releasing studio version, he said he will take responsibility and fight with the company for it to be released on Moonbins birthday (1/26). Singing this song looks like it brings back painful memories to Jihoon. So if he wishes to keep it private from now I fully respect his decision. Seeing him performing it, even though it was only through a video, made me come to the realisation that not all art is meant to be shared to the world. Woozi has mentioned numerous times that his producing and songwriting process is his way of coping with his emotions in his life. Every time one of his songs is released he essentially leaves himself bare to the world and I believe it’s okay for him to decide not to release a song if he doesn’t want to. It’s his life and no matter how close fans think we are to the artists, they deserve to have their privacy and choose what to tell us.

Mina Willenton is it just me or when he sings his neck doesn’t look too good. It looks like something on his neck. I know when he sings you can see his veins pop out but when you look closer you see other things. I hope not anything that is dangerous.

Everytime I hear this song.. my heart really aches. It's not only because of the lyrics or the melody, but because Jihoon sings this song with all his heart. Like every word is really meant to be heard by someone. And maybe this song is really written for someone, or not. But this one is just painfully beautiful in another level

Yeah. It happens to me too. I also get aches on my chest while listening to this song which was sung by Jihoon. I even listening it for many times in a row. Honestly i don't understand korean at all. And it's my first time get aches by only listening the original lyrics while reading the translation. I just don't know. truee it aches my heart not bcos the song reminds me of something, but seeing how jihoon fully dedicates himself om singing the song and the emotions were utterly evident, thats why everytime i watch this i will always find myself getting teary eyed or having a lump in my throat

It's quite obvious that SVT agreed to release it. All the members knew about the fans and some ordinary people wanting it to be release and even Woozi himself said that PLEDIS needs to approve it. So.. it's on Pledis' hands and I bet they will release it one day in the future but the timing is not right these days. They want to focus on promoting as a group instead of solo. And PLEDIS said that and the members agreed. So please be patient a little bit because seeing their pattern.. he will go out solo sooner or later.. they just need a good timing :) PLEDIS and the SVT members' are not dumb but.. it's a matter of timing :)

woozi has said that pledis is the one who will determine whether or not the song will be released, and when he said that the song was only meant to be performed once, he meant at the ideal cut concert

keilani z at the start of this video he said that he intended to sing this once (on ideal cut in seoul). He didn't really said anything about officially releasing the song in this video (did he say it anywhere else, anyone can tell me when/where?)

(About me: Born in Korea, ethnically 100% Korean. Moved to California, America when I was 1 or 2 years old (not sure), where I proceeded to live for around ten years. When I was around 11 or 12, I moved back to Korea, where I am still staying now. Because of this, while I was technically born in Korea, I feel as if America is my hometown, and feel more comfortable both speaking and writing in English. My Korean is not bad (I'd say I'm almost fluent, if not fluent), so I am able to translate Korean to English. woozi didn't want to release this song officially since this is something so personal to him but now he'll release it on moonbin's birthday because moonbin loves this song so much and he will even fight the company just to do so :(
