Yeah but you're not allowed to enjoy it because "HuRr DuRr Nissan BAD!" RCR speaks from a place of entitlement, not having struggled to understand the value of pure reliability and not flourish. He needs more than we do because he's been corrupted by the expectation from high end of car culture. It'd be fine if he enjoyed those things without being needlessly critical of vehicles that don't deserve the slack. Take for instance his Infiniti G37xS review where he admits the car is good but hates it for no good reason. We all know why... Its a Nissan. He's not allowed to enjoy Nissans and neither should we.

I often see it at the local Dollar General(It's a small town, so currently our only major store besides 2 gas stations unless we drive 30 minutes away to another town, but we are getting a Dollar Tree JOY!!! 🙄), and the owner is as trashy as the Pathfinder usually wearing a dirty wife beater.

Yeah compared to the 4 runner and other v6 in its general competitor. It made much more power. Closer to some V8. It just wasn't as reliable as the 4 runner or even its previous model years 3.3. but still as capable as all its competition. But this was the first of the legendary 3.5 vqde engines. They still use it to say but they had many generations to improve it. But this was first so it was kinda buggy. The suspension could have been much better. If they had better suspension this thing would be hard to beat. I know I have an r50.

Totally different experience. And it’s got almost 300k miles on it and it’s never had any serious mechanical issues. Not a single one.

Sadly we had to sell the car because we unwillingly bought another car from a friend and couldnt keep both of them so we had to sell it. I miss it so much, i dont give a flyin f*ck what you said about the car, its the car that made me appreciate what it had to offer and appreciate what we had and it made me and my family happy and rekindled and expanded my love for cars and the automotive community. i miss you marshmellow

That’s a very nice Pathfinder! I had a 1999 QX4, very similar but mine only had the 3.3 with 170 HP. The 3.5 came out in 2001 with 240 HP. I really enjoy my QX4, took a lot of trips in it. Bought it with 99,000 miles, every button and feature worked. Sold it on 2 years later when we got a Ridgeline. Nissan USED to make pretty solid stuff. That Pathfinder is one of the last good ones, from the last good years. Notable exception: the Frontier. Had the same platform from 2005-2020, generally solid trucks. Great 4.0 liter V6, good power, NO CVT, still body on frame construction.

I've had 2 other pathfinders though, both from 2002, that were great too. I like that I can tow with it, it's got enough off road capability to have some fun with, and I think it will be good to camp with eventually. The aftermarket is also surprisingly good. If you don't have the money for a forerunner or just want an alternative, Pathfinders are good. Lots of people overland with them. I don't see many crawler builds but with good tires and a lift they're very good off road.
