It goes 85 bears, then the Dilfer Ravens, then we are #3. I can make a case for number 1.But zi digress. Cool, claim to fame. The Bucs have a record I don't think will ever be broken. 3 interceptions returned for touchdowns in the superbowl. Plus the 5 int's will probably never be broken.

This was the game as a Raiders fan where I was like, "Ummm, the Bucs might be real trouble". I wasn't worried about Philly and even the 49ers, who had beaten us, I didn't think we'd lose to them on a neutral field. But Tampa...this game was ominous because they completely neutered a damn good 49ers offense and T.O.

Considering gruden was the head coach definitely didn't help the raider's super bowl situation either. Gruden was able to take this Tampa squad to the superbowl with a top defense and medicore offense. But given his knowledge of the raider offense mixed with a shut down defense. A routing was in the making from the start

In a way, it’s fitting that the Niners were the Bucs’ Playoff opponent this day considering that TB’s first win of the Pewter Red era and the beginning of their turnaround which led to their crowning Super moment of glory was against SF in ‘97 which began the turnaround.

that's BS.. the niners almost scored a td on streets catch in the 1st, and would have tied the game. the Bucs were the better team, but the game should have at least been competitive. the niners offense cut the game to 8 half way through the 2nd when they should have had another td w/ streets. 9ers had pro bowlers at qb, receiver, and Hearst should have been one. compare that to Tb's lame ass offense! u heard collinsworth saying the sf receivers were better than Tb's corners!.. tb only moved the ball passing 'cause Webster and Plummer were out injured and their replacements wouldn't have been Able to to cover DIII receivers! the niners LBs were terrorizing that basic ass qb at the end of the 2nd! Bucs got lucky on two Garcia ints w/ one that should have been caught by streets & the other an overthrow Owens shouldn't have tipped up in the air. a real 49er fan would notice these things instead of making asinine comments.

@Jonathan Dee The One And Only He probably deserved to be fired for how he handled the end of that first half. He calls a defensive TO to presumably preserve clock, then when he gets the ball down 28-6 with 2 timeouts and a minute left, *then* he decides to pack it in? Inconceivable that he wouldn't try to get the ball downfield to cut into the lead by halftime.

That is definitely untrue Jamail White. At a point in the 2008-2009 season the Bucs were 9-3 and looking to make the playoffs as the #1 seed and host the Super Bowl in our own home stadium but Monte Kiffin announced he wasn't returning thus beginning the collapse. We would lose 4 in a row, miss the playoffs, fire Gruden, cut Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, Jeff Garcia and several other veterans. Due to these very "questionable" moves by the franchise, it angered alot of fans and season ticket holders cancelled. This is where the attendance problem has stemmed from. So from 2009 up until now there have been attendance issues but between 1997-2008 the Bucs never really had attendance issues or loyalty issues from the fan base and there was also a 200,000 season ticket waiting list. I'm sure the 49ers may have gone through similar hardships like the Bucs have.

Except for the Jim Harbaugh era this was the beginning of the York ownership failing miserably. From 2003 - 2018 the 49ers only made the playoffs three times. As long as the Yorks own the team they're going to suck !!! Sad but true.

I attended the game vs ATL in '02 and it was $380 per seat for 40yd line Bucs side 6th row (non club). The franchise went downhill very quickly after Papa Glazer had strokes in 2006. Malcolm loved his team but his sons only cared about their new cash cow Manchester United. Don’t forget about the GULF OIL SPILL scandal. They seem to be trying now. Maybe they noticed how great ownership transformed the Lightning.
