This particular car was a gift from Chevrolet to NASCAR driver Dave Marcis upon his retirement in 2002. Dave not only was a noted driver in NASCAR, but also was a close friend of Dale Earnhardt. In fact, Dave did much of the testing and set up work for Earnhardt. The added, Dave was an employee of RCR (Richard Childress Racing) as a test driver, fabricator, and engine builder.
