I bought a 03 954rr from its original owner and he had it mostly sitting as well only putting about 3500 miles in 16 years. But in my Case he kept it in his air conditioned living room so win win, I still had a full service done just for good measure.

i have the same bike 2002 model still runs great its an absolute beast of a machine pure bred racing machine no abs no tcs no wheelie control no rider modes no slide control just pump gas and open the throttle no wonder that this 954 is the best ever fireblade ever produced by honda an excellent work of art by the legend tadeo baba and rider development input by the famous motogp racer the late nickey hayden

So excited for this build, new to your channel. I have a 954 and want to do some work on it, I will be taking notes, mine at the moment feels like it has a hard miss fire at low rpm, under 3.5k rpm. Someone told me it might be the throttle position sensor? Any thoughts? I also want to tune up everything I can, new spark plugs, air cleaner, my valves could probably use a check. Excited to see where this goes

Thanks Timmy, before you mess around with the throttle position sensor I would recommend checking the spark plugs, and see what's going on. When it comes to my 954 I'm doing a whole bunch of tuning 0and right now I'm waiting on parts to finish putting it together enough to try to start it. Stay tuned 😀👍

I got a '02 954. Thing is a beast. Drove about 25.000 km on it. Cruising alot. Amazing bike. Dyno video is on my channel 👍 145.1 Rwhp.

Love this build. I ride an “analog” bike at the track myself. 2001 ZX9. I can’t move past the sound it makes and the smell of a carbureted bike!

Hey!! I have a question I think I timed it right I’m on the t mark next to the t going around the games only line up ex and in one time and I’m on that rotation they are slightly off but I figured it only lines up one time out of the 4 rotations , cylinder one is high 2 is low 3 is low but 4 is high too is that right ? Also after taking the lower sprocket off the thick key way part is facing the bottom, in another video he mentioned the key knotch had to be straight up I’m confused if I’m timed or not

Just what I'm looking for just got a 03 954 myself. It cranks and has spark and pump primes but for the love of me won't start at all

Try checking if the valves seat properly, if you have spark and fuel it might be air or compression

Where are you located and do you service people's bikes?
