I'm fixing mine currently and I snapped the top of this in first, and for the life of me I couldn't get the bottom clip to snap. But now I see I need to do the bottom first so I can use the screwdriver trick :) thanks a ton, only video I seen that was helpful!

Any auto parts has an assortment. Cheaper than the dealership.

Just a heads up, the plastic clip goes in the hole with the shank at 12 o'clock. Then insert the rod and rotate shank 180° to lock on the rod. Trying to install the clip in the hole with rod inserted can damage lock

@@justinoff1 the plastic clip in the hole is snug on mine so thats fine. its the other end thats the issue. i try to feel where it goes and it fits in the hole but its very loose. a couple turn on the keys and the whole rode swings right off. could you help?

Sounds like you have the wrong clip or it was installed properly. You need to snap it on to the arm and then rotate it into place

hello please help. i inserted the new clip to the rod and the rod in the hole. my problem now is the other end of it is loose. i tried putting the bottom end in where i feel it suppose to go but everytime i turn the key a couple of times it comes off loose. any help would be appreciated

You may have one of the holddown clips broke down inside there check and be sure that you’ve got all those U-shaped clips that stick to the doors and hold the rods in place. That’s the only thing I can tell you good luck.

You can try to straighten it and if not go to dealer and get a new one

part #, brand etc, ...... would have been nice to mention.

Sorry all you got to do is go to the Chevrolet dealer.

I found it much easier to put the clip in first and then slide in the rod and clamp it on.

Part Number would be nice

Kevin Crouch You don’t need a part number just call the Chevrolet dealer And tell them the year and make of your vehicle and they’ll have it I’m just showing you how to change it I hope you don’t want me to come over and do it

If you had half a wit to wipe your own ass you would know how to properly install a simple plastic "Retainer". First of all, the "retainer" goes into the lock lever first, hence the bulging protrusions on the inserted end. These protrusions are for the retainer to self lock AFTER the rod end is inserted into the "RETAINER". Second, If you knew 1,000th about vehicles compared to what I have forgotten then and only then could you even begin to tell me what a blinker bulb might look like. I have already changed these out several times before using inferior DORMAN bullshit parts. They don't last. I thought, in which I was absolutely wrong, that a friendly gesture would be to post a part number for those that tend to save a little of their hard earned money and order online mail delivery. But you being an asinine asshat want to be a smart ass. And don't forget to rotate your muffler bearings, it will keep the A/C cooler in the winter.

These clips are available at parts houses in an assortment pack. Even Harbor Fright has an assortment tray.

Just got locked out from my trailblazer at the store I don't like key fobs and use just a key, GM brilliant engineers only put one key lock on a car now. So stupid!!!! Just ordered new key fobs on Amazon... I hate newer cars that think for you!!!!!
