    @johnnysellssocal

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hey Jeremy. Thanks for watching the video. I don't have the measurements kept on hand unfortunately. Most of my bumpers are one off so it's not typical that I have the same measurements every time. Depends on what the customer is looking for. I forgot what size I did this one out of. Smallest I would do is 1.75" x .120 wall tubing. I've started doing all of them out of 2" now though. I think it looks better. Especially on a full size. I always do 2" on full size. Sometimes midsized trucks would be 1.75". Ive moved away from that now

    Ohhhh perfect outline to follow. Thinking of doing a similar fabrication except adding a stinger above the skid plate. What kind of pipe and what size were u using? Would 1 1/4” rigid pipe be good?

  • @trifectaoffroad

    @trifectaoffroad

    5 жыл бұрын

    I wouldn't use pipe. These are made out of tubing. You can use 1.75" or 2" tubing and use 1/8" wall thickness. You can use mild steel, DOM or chromoly. Honestly for a street truck, mild steel is fine. Heck, I even used mild steel on my race truck bumpers but if you got the cash, doesn't hurt to get the better stuff. Now I wouldn't ever use mild steel on a cage or anything meant for structure. For a bumper, it's fine.

  • @trifectaoffroad

    make sure you disconnect the battery before welding, chance of killing the electrical system... just a heads up he might have got lucky but that is an expensive bumper if you gotta replace the whole wiring system too

  • @trifectaoffroad

    @trifectaoffroad

    5 жыл бұрын

    Logan Walker yeah. I usually do but I must be one lucky son of a bitch. In my racing days, I never disconnected the batteries when welding and especially if we ever had to do welding in the pits, it never happened. As long as you have the ground close to where you are welding and not having run from one frame rail to the next, then I think it lessens your chance. I've welded on countless vehicles with no issue ever. But to secede to your comment, you are 100% right.

    hey bud sweet build. What kind of tube bender is that?.. At my job once in a while I run into something that needs bending.. but looks great for garage builds.

  • @trifectaoffroad

    @trifectaoffroad

    5 жыл бұрын

    infowarrior1999 what's up buddy. The bender is a jd2 model 32 bender. I got the hydraulic option. For the longest time, I was using a manual bender and it was one option lower called the model 3. I built a ton of bumpers and a full race truck off the manual one. It works super well. The only advantage this bender has over my old one (besides me being lazy and having hydraulic) is that this one can do thicker tubing. The pins for all the tooling are much larger than the model 3. You can definitely get by with a model 3 no problem.

    Marciano Verde watch my tundra video. I used some masking tape to mark the lines. If the bumper is plastic, cut a little below the masking tape line with a cut off wheel and then use a portable belt sander to get a nice clean straight line. Just cut high enough to expose the frame rails. Should be good to go from there. I know somebody in Fort Worth if you need a bumper built for you. He does great work

    @@gushamilton5188 it's more so about the fact that I don't have a CNC bender or notching so it would require some modification and wouldn't be so plug and play. If that makes any sense. I'm sure if I sent off a kit, there would be people who simply couldn't complete the install

    Evan Williamson I think this truck has just a regular lift. Actually, it's a 4wd s10 so may be the stock height. It's a customers truck. Do a search for dezert dimes on instagram. You might find more info on where to find a long travel kit.

    Yeah. These s10s don't have a huge aftermarket following. It's not entirely easy to make good looking bolt on bumpers. Most end up being custom
