    if you wanna increase the wheel space from the front side of the fender on the rear wheels and re-center them, aerogenics sells a 1 inch trailing arm spacer that does just that

    Thanks for the great observation and tip. The CR-V rear wheels operate fine without them but moving the wheels back a bit, as well as giving it a slightly more lift with the trailing arm spacers would make it look that much better. We'll look at putting them on. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Nice choice for the wheels. Too bad about that strut bolt...can't help but think that if you'd been able to maneuver your gun closer with a swivel in place of the extension and a heavier deep impact socket then you may have had better luck. Impacts are not only safer, but the additional mass really adds to their punch - Armchair Quarterback Loving the series.

    Hey man love the build, i am wondering if you mounted the rims directly to the wheel spacers or did you have to get some hub bore spacers? I recently got spacers and new rims and am just wondering if you need some spacers. Thanks !

    Hello there! We were able to mount the rims directly to the wheel spacers with no further issues. However, we calculated the correct thickness of spacers we needed for the specific rims we wanted by test fitting the rims at Discount Tire BEFORE we ordered our spacers. (Discount Tire allows you to test fit rims free of charge.) Thanks for watching and commenting! New episode coming out in the next few days so stay tuned.

    Hello there! The answer to your question is no, they are not the same bolt. I believe the front bolt is a 19mm and the rear is a 17mm flanged bolt. If you buy the bolts from Honda like I did, the Honda Dealer parts guy can make sure you get the right ones. In the video I give the part number for the rear bolt because that's the only one I needed to replace. Make sure you put anti-seize lubricant on the shaft of any bolts you reinstall (not on the threads). GO FOR IT DUDE! You will absolutely love the look of your newly lifted CR-V. Let us know how it turns out. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel!

    There are several adjustments that can be made. However, I recommend that you take it to a computer assisted alignment shop like we did. They are usually experienced in performing modified alignments every day. The shop I took it to did a great job for only $59.00. And mind you we also had a ton of positive camber after putting the lift kit on before they did the alignment. They should provide you with a digital analysis before and after the adjustment. Let us know how it works out, I know your buddy will love the new look. Thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing to our channel!

    Awesome build! Did you do anything about body roll? Any upgrades to sway bar/stabilizer bar? My 2004 has bad body roll not sure best ways to address it

  • @mikesbackyardmechanic

    @mikesbackyardmechanic

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello there! Thanks for the compliment and the question. We are having a blast doing our upgrades and sharing it with everyone. We have not experienced much if any noticeable body roll in my particular build. This may be due to my installing new stiffer struts on the rear, and using wheel spacers giving a substantially wider wheelbase footprint. Are you sure you are not having other issues? A common one is bad anti-sway bar link points. Check your entire suspension system to make sure everything looks good. There are some other ways that you can prevent body roll. By definition, body roll only occurs when one side of the suspension is compressed (moves into jounce), while the other extends (moves into rebound). Therefore, we can limit body roll by making it harder for the driver-side and passenger-side suspensions to move in opposite directions. New or stiffer struts like I mentioned, or the use of a thicker anti-roll bars-also known as anti-sway bars, roll bars, stabilizer bars or sway bars-provides a more cost-effective reduction in body roll with minimal negative impacts upon ride quality. The bar’s torsional stiffness-or resistance to twist-determines its ability to reduce body roll. Less twisting of the bar results in less movement into jounce and rebound by the opposite ends of the suspension-which results in less body roll. The CR-V's do have sway bars but adding just 2mm to the diameter to an existing sway bar size will improve the torsional rigidity by approx. 75%. twist = (2 x torque x length)/(p x diam4 x material modulus.) At this time, we are not experiencing body roll, but if we do, we may explore a thicker anti-sway bar upgrade and share the install on an upcoming episode. Again, thanks for watching and commenting! Feel free to subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications so you don't miss a future upgrade episode.

    @@mikesbackyardmechanic I should have mentioned, mine is street only. Mostly stock but I just bought pre-owned 16x8.5 wheels. They came with 225/55/16 tires but I’m going to try to fit 235/60/16 without wheel spacers. Fingers crossed they will fit without rubbing. I have original struts after 153k miles so that is likely my biggest spot for soft suspension and body roll. I am also considering H&R springs and KYB struts long term depending on how it feels after new wheels and tires. I never go off road so it’s just fun street daily driver.

    Hi there! If your intent is to do heavy-duty off-road driving... absolutely that would make sense since you are already taking them off to put the lift kit on. If you just want an incredibly cool look while street driving, then that upgrade may not be entirely worth the cost. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing to our channel!

    Hello!! This is a question we have been asked before. Unfortunately, I did not measure the mm dimensions of our parts before putting them on, and it appears that Aerogenics does not show the specifications on their website. Maybe if I get a chance, I can crawl under my CRV and see what dimensions I can pull off and post them here. What country are you from? Hey there, thanks for the question. All of Episodes 2 and 3 (Motor drop kit and Lift) would have taken us about 3 hours altogether if the rusted strut bolts would have come loose easily. If they are completely fused like ours were as shown in episode 3, it took an extra 3 hours plus the time to get the extra bolts and struts (For us 3 days). Hopefully, our videos will help some who run into the same issues. Thanks for watching and supporting our channel!

    Actually if you order a (3") Lift Kit for the front and back, it should come with the proper sized spacers. The spacers will be smaller for the back because the geometry is different in the back. But the lift will be the same 3". Lift preferences are different for each person. Some want to lift evenly front and back, some want to lift the back more, some want to lift the front more. I chose to lift evenly. So I ordered a 3" front and 3" back lift kit. My spacers were smaller on the back compared to the front, but the lift was even. If you have a specific question about a particular lift kit, I would ask the seller to make sure. Hope it helps. Thanks again for watching.
