Great video thanks and I would add that you could 3/4 fill the new oil filter just before attatching it so that there is some fresh oil for the engine to grab on the first start-up.

Great Video! Is it hard to change the differential fluid?
@NutzAboutBolts
9 жыл бұрын
Anthony Trujillo no, it's just a drain and refill, its pretty easy, make sure to use the bottle that they supply and squeeze the fluid in there or pump it into the differential.
Thanks for sharing! Where can I get an oil filter tool to change mines?
@NutzAboutBolts
8 жыл бұрын
you can buy it at any auto store. Make sure to get the exact type, the 3 prong oil filter tool is weak, this one has a stronger grip.

do you need the tool to remove the oil filter? or can you just unscrew it with your hand?
@NutzAboutBolts

oil filter will be tight due to vacuum pressure. I would recommend getting the tool, it's the best tool out there.

JOE FORD DIY yeah, its always my go to oil filter tool lol. Unless I have to use the plier type oil filter tool, that one is good too. I bought it at Harbor Freight for that one.
hey man nice work. I have a question, do you need to change a drain plug seal or something?
@NutzAboutBolts

No, the drain plug comes with a built in gasket seal.

what happens if the oil level is above the 5th dot will that cause you low pressure oil light to come on??? I have a 2006 esv escalade
@NutzAboutBolts

Kimberly Duran if you have low oil level, it'll show low pressure.

what do I do to check it... when I check the oil the dip stick oil is just over the 5th dot but it is cold do I need to let it warm up a little first ??? and then check it after it has cycled through?? thank you in advance for your help...
@NutzAboutBolts
9 жыл бұрын
You want to drain your oil and not over fill them. Make sure the oil level is below the 5th dot when warm up. Not cold. Once the oil is warm up, the oil expands.
its easier than what you think if you take the oil filter first and later the oil why? very simple
My escalade is leaking oil on the right side of the engine, is that coming from the screw?

You know you made more of a mess by using the rag to remove the oil filter. Why did you have the latex gloves on ???
@NutzAboutBolts
8 жыл бұрын
+JIM ECKENRODE yes I know, the oil was hot so I used a rag, the latex glove is so that I don't get oil on my hands. Personal preference, as long as you get the job done, that's all that matters. :)
