What a little classic.

Oh sweet. Yeah buddy. Got myself a 2000 SDI in green twelve months ago built like a tank and drives really well in modern traffic no issues at all. Genuine 60mpg car drive around on a sea of torque sounds great as well. If you are in the market for one buy it you wont regret it

Alex Boyde Agreed 100%, these cars a a bit of a gem. Absolutely bullet proof, amazing fuel economy and remarkably good to drive in their dinky way. The only downside with the pre-historic engine is that it is incredibly loud at idle. Ironically at 70 MPH it is pretty smooth. Also these are brilliant on the motorway, a real surprise for something so small. Just did 180 miles in this today, no sweat! You just have to learn to use what little power there is, just enough!

Can I join in this circle jerk a second? Similar situation to Alex. These cars are ridiculously overlooked. Best sub-1k car out there. I’ve passed on BMW ownership because I know this thing will get from A to B without question. It’s handled Snowdonia forest on 15”/6.5j and coilovers, somehow, and driven coast to coast. And the engine reminds me of old black cabs, chugging away.

Yup if you have £1000 and you want an A to B car you cannot do better than this little car. Mine is still going strong decided shortly after I got it to invest in it and literally serviced everything on the car even replaced gearbox oil was worth the investment. Pretty certain it has another ten years in it just need the government not to ban them!
