Gen1 Sequoia!!! Your right on the timing belt, also frame rust in the salt belt can eat away, go Fluid Film. With 215k this Sequoia has plenty of miles left in it. Nice build, I enjoyed mine immensely....hauled and pulled anything.

As a owner of a 02 Sequoia I agree that they are awesome, mine has 318k right now and still going strong. When I bought mine in Dec of 2020 it was way cheaper than a equivalent suburban/tahoe as I was looking at those as well, in fact most of the ones I was looking at were 3x more and had the venerable issue with the transmission and its sun gear. But yes they are getting up there in price as people are starting to notice the 1st gens now. And with mine I am on a 2" OME/Bilstein 5100 lift and running 285/75R16's mickey thompson baja boss a/t's on series 80 5 spoke wheels. And have been all over western and Central Oregon, Washington, NorCal, and a lil bit of Nevada with it so far, and will be hitting Idaho later this summer with trailer in tow for my fiance's family reunion.

Was considering the Sequoia, as well as the Lexus LX570, but went with a Suburban to max size and easier (for me) to work on.

A timing chain is not for the lifetime of the vehicle. Would much rather do a timing belt/water pump every 100k than have the 150-200k chain.

Timing chains in general are for the lifetime of the engine. There are some exceptions out there for example; lr4s, 3.0 Subaru 6 cylinders, I've done 2.5 Honda's before. These are rare cases where the chain will stretch or the guides will break etc. Again the GM V8 engines timing chain and assembly is bulletproof and I've never had to do one.
