I have an Internet friend from Canada who was in Afghanistan, told me "The war was a lie" and that he usually "Got himself drunk" on purpose while he was there. Ya, it's fairly messed up. I recall a story from American soldiers where they were at an Afghan army base as advisors, and the commander would have young boys brought to his quarters at night for reasons you can probably guess. Americans were specifically told not to get involved, let alone bring it up. War involves making lots of concessions in order to work together. It's just unfortunate that the Afghanistan the West tried to build was disgusting AND incompetent.
