2000s digicam retro look✨📸(replacing my film camera)
I found my family camera from over 12 years ago! the CCD sensor on the old digital cameras produces unique colours which gives off a nostalgic vibe that can look similar to film. in this video, I use this camera to take some street photography photos.

I find it interesting that lower quality images with imperfections look way more appealing than high resolution perfect reproductions of reality.

It’s the feeling it gives. Basically puts us into a different time. Same reason why film is becoming so popular rn. It transitions us into whatever time frame they’re replicating. Brings nostalgic feelings.

It has to do with familiarity and nostalgia. High Def is nice, but it appears too digitized, making it unappealing to the eye

@@daftnessrollz yeah like when the hobbit movies were shot in 48 fps and people thought it looked off because it looked too realistic and showed too many details. I personally don’t think it looked too bad but for some people high def isn’t the best for films.

It’s cool to see so many young people shooting in the same cameras I used when they were new! But imagine for just a minute spending around $500-$1000 for one of these. That’s what we paid back in the day. 😂

it's not easy finding basic point and shoot anymore at stores. all i see is mirrorless slr etc or cameras with huge lens almost 200 and up. i liked my hp digital cam in the past, but it no longer works. I used to have a sony camcorder where it had the hi8 mini tape i think, but it didn't work after 3 years.

The DSC-W350 he used here was around 170-200 $ new in 2010. It isnt even THAT old. Thats already "Vintage"? Try something from 20 Years ago. :-p I remember having a Kodak in 2004 thats shoots rly nice warm pictures. Problem with that old cameras is they dont accept modern SD cards. You need to find 128 MB SD Type 1cards or even less for them. I remember paying around 70 Euros for a 128 MB (NOT GB) card in 2004. Haha.

@@000jimbojones000 I think a lot of it is just how fast technology moves. It does depend tho, laptops from that era are obsolete but pc's are running pretty strong. Reminds me of my Fuji S2 Pro that I still use, from 2004 and still goes strong while many of my 2012 digicams suck ass. The sweet spot is the CCD Digicams, like Fujifilms Super CCD Cameras as a whole. Those have the real vintage look that most people want from old digicams

I honestly find it a shame, smartphone cameras have REALLY good hardware, just they are ALWAYS over processed and I just gag whenever a reviewer says an iPhone looks natural. Most smartphones on the market are either oversaturated, oversharped or have too much contrast. I wouldn't mind using my smartphone as my camera but just because of the processing, it gives a good reason to still use a regular camera.

One of my friends brought one of these to my school field trip. Something about those photos make it look nostalgic. But my friends say every camera shoots photos like that. But they don't know what they are talking about. They probably never held a modern camera in their hands
I got a random digital camera from a guy in Tokyo some years ago and shot some pictures on it. Found the camera a little while back and it was kind of like finding a forgotten time capsule. The shots were so much more nostalic than those on my iPhone camera roll.

After each picture I can’t help by think it could easily pass as an album cover
Am i only one obsessed with these retro cameras like i have a iphone but idk why im dying over these
Yes, Retro is a better word, some people are saying that is like "film". In the 2000s era of digital cameras, nobody was saying that those cameras were like film, in a way it was the opposite. Now I see more youtubers saying that old digicams are like film. Maybe be with editing, but wouldn't that be the case for the vast majority of cameras?. Enjoy the camera, nice vid.

It's a real shame there are no film options that don't use animal products - which is why I love shooting with an old digital camera. In the 2000s we all accepted that these cameras didn't match the quality of film....and it's really true. You can get vsco-esque tones, colors, and contrast, but not the quality of real film and real film prints. And that's fine.
In the 2000s I was just a three year old but at the time I was unaware of the digital cameras being that my mom always bought the disposable film camera which at the time I think she didn't have the money to be buying digital cameras but at the same time if I thought about it if she didn't buy disposable film cameras I think she could have gotten the digital cameras back then if she set aside some money for that

Well, I have a story to tell.. in 2011 when I was 11 years old my dad bought me the cybershot w560, I was too happy! I liked the idea of taking photos and at that time it was a camera with a quality that was crazy, smartphones were still in evolution and they did not have that quality so it was something really impressive and for a small girl even more. To make the story short, two years later I "lost" the camera, or at least I thought I lost it because I never saw it again, and I didn't take my camera anywhere without te presence of my family because I could lose it and at that time the camera had been very expensive. I used it the most to take photos of my family in different events, photos of the garden and when my friends went to visit. I never told my dad anything about the camera, I couldn't and he never asked me about it, but i lived in constant fear, I was terrified every time they talked about technology or stuffs like that, because I was like "he's going to ask me about how I'm doing with the camera" and in these moments in my mind I could only beg a "please don't ask me" because I knew they were going to scold me ugly and well.. I kinda deserved it. I cried a lot, in different days and I felt very bad and I searched the house looking for it, and the worst thing is that I had the box with the accessories and the charger and everything except the camera so I was like how I could have lost it?? Years passed and I forgot about that, in 2018 I moved to another country and when my mother came to visit, she brought me the camera (I know, plot twist) I cried for happiness and for the emotion of seeing it again, but I was very surprised at how she found it, she said that looking for it In my room it was in the closet, apparently in a high area that I never really went up to because I couldn't, so the camera was always in my house. It is a mystery that has no answer, how did the camera get to that part of the closet that I couldn't go to? Because I didnt. Did someone came into my room (siblings) and did it? Or is it that there were goblins hiding things?? The thing is that when she brings me the camera, she brings it to me without the accessories because she told me that she didn't find them, she only brought it with the sd card and the battery. I managed to get the photos back which was very special to me, but I never really set out to buy a charger because I didnt have the resources to do it, so I'm currently here looking for videos to see if it's worth buying a charger and using the camera again. I have always liked photography and I am sure that if I had never "lost" my camera, photography would now be more important in my life, but it was a hobby that I lost because I could not face the fact that I had not appreciated that object so I left it in the past. I know this is very long and I doubt anyone has read it, but if so, thank you. Also, I apppreciated the video a lot because now I feel more convinced to find a way to charge the camera and see if still works! If it does, i'll try to give an update and closure to this story.
