New Zealand is the JDM buyer of Japan for the past 3 decades. You should try nz way more Japanese imports and rare models everywhere all over the country. They have had a trading relationship with Japan for quite a while. They have all the various R models of honda there including competing opposition branded models of that time.

I have an ek9 which I'm currently building back up. B18cR in it makes it even better and really compliments the ek9 chassis. Great review. Your enthusiasm is a feeling you have every time getting in the car.

@@zero9EK9 I had a clean EK4, sold it for $2,500, regretted it, I feel an EK9 would make up for it, but the prices now are pretty nutts, I wonder if I could find a cheap importer or try import one myself and save

The car is beautiful and I think it's fantastic that the ek9s are finally getting recognition. There iconic cars up there with the itr's.

The front end on these are double wishbones right? The EP3 then went to inferior macpherson strut setup.

They're trying to sell these in Australia a real EK9 for $35,000 to $40,000... jokes on you mate! I would rather a 86 as sad as that sounds it's at least RWD and from what I've seen on youtube they keep up with this car if not beat it

エンジンありきのホンダ車でこの90年代後半以降のボディ耐久性はあまり評価されないが、25年経ってもエンジン性能を受け止めるボディや足回りは実は凄い。いや担当したスタッフが化け物なのかも。 同時期のインテグラや初代ステップワゴンやCR-VやHR-Vなども。 B型エンジンも良いけどシングルカムで130馬力出すD型エンジンやL型エンジンもまたホンダエンジンらしい楽しさ。

One of the most fun to drive atleast

I drove a couple of these back in the day. Great car, _fantastic_ chassis, but found the engine(although a marvel of engineering) too schizoid. Either dead or insane, but hard to keep it on the boil. The best one I drove had a B18c transplant and it transformed it IMHO. Oh and that chassis was actually seam welded in a few areas, unlike the Integra R which wasn't, though it seems every review/article claims they were.

@@CollateralFatality It wasn't CF. It did get extra reinforcement in parts of the chassis, thicker steel and extra spot welds slright. The seam welding seems to be one of those things that got repeated until it became fact. Another one is the hand polishing of ports. Only the earliest B series engines for the R got that treatment until they got in machines to do it and they did a better and faster job. Because they were slow to make and were a separate production line both the EK9 and DC2 R's were loss makers for Honda so naturally they tried to reduce that over time.

I own one of these babies, and no. This isn't the best Honda. :) The BEST Honda, is the S2000, or the Integra DC2. I can't decide which, although I'm leaning towards the S2000.
