    Tell me about it, we used to have an old '80s 3 door coupé Ford Sierra in the Family (also known as a Laser). RWD 1.6L OHV engine and no servo steering or ABS (it did have electric windows). A bitch to park and drive and low speeds but oh, so nice at mid range speeds, going through corners on B-roads. Not all new cars suck though, but not all new cars drive like Fiesta ST's. ^_^

    This is exactly what Honda built their Si lineup on. A light, affordable, reliable car that's loads of fun to drive. This video makes me miss my 99 Si coupe so bloody much. It wasn't the fastest, but it was by far the funnest, and I've driven several turbo'd cars like Evo's and Bmw's. And I now own an S50 swapped E30. Civic's always out do them in the fun factor. And that is something that all these wannabe Honda haters don't understand. Enjoying a car is about being connected with it, about feeling every move it makes. The 99 Honda's did that perfectly.

    I've been driving Honda Prelude '91 for 10 years, kept it clean and well-maintained. The car is incredibly fun, reliable, doesn't consume much petrol and is relatively fast. Many people look at it and ask me questions about the car. They like it, and I like it. I really don't get the hate for ALL the Honda cars on KZread based on 5% cars that are riced.

    Honda is making all their new cars bulkier and just not the same kind of simple and agile cars they used to make that everyone loved. The latest civic type r looks like it could be an SUV if it was a bit higher. It's just not in the spirit of the old civics.

  • @StephenButlerOne

    @StephenButlerOne

    Mcufre its a trend across all cars, that has always gone on. Just look at the origanal Ford fiesta, and opel corsa, for many years they was the small entry level cheap car, once the fiesta grew in size, quality and price, they had to get a new fiesta, which come in the giese of the ka, that too is now getting big, and somthing will be aloong soon enough. Remeber the ford escort, that was replaced by the focus, that is now actual bigger than the Sierra that was a class above the Escort. The Sierra was replaced with the Mondeo, but again the Mondeo is larger than the Sierra and now as big as the old Grenada that again was in a bracket above the Sierra. As to vauxhall /opel, they had the corsa as there entry car, that now is as big as the old Astra (cadet) they have introduced 2 cars under the corsa now, the Adam, that is quite a hipster cheap car, and the real corsa replacment is the Viva, which is bad. It's not just Ford and GM at it, the worst offender is Renault, remember the wonderful Renault Williams Clio pocket rocket, about the size of Mark 2 fiesta/ka and was brilliant, now just look up 2026 clio, it's bigger than the current mini. Also i was driving behind a early 80s 3 series BMW, its was tiny, very narrow and low. A cool looking car in comparisons to what they offer now. So sadly we can't escape ever expanding cars, but on the plus side, once they have marketed 'x' car, grew it, grew its price, they need to slot somthing in the lost price point. Sadly, it's never a cool little hit hatch. I'm a hot hatch fan. And currently in my last Coupe /hatch, was going to be an Octavia Vrs 230, but I'm now thinking the 165bhp 3008GTLine. Truly differnt car, but I think i like it a lot.

    Excellent video, great to finally see the EK9 get some proper coverage. I've had my pre facelift EK9 N1 (Racebase) for a couple years now and only this weekend had I taken it for a road trip. An absolute joy to drive, noisey / firm ride but so involved and exciting. Modern cars are so much more practical but don't offer the thrills these old cars do.

    The EK9 is such a wonderful car. Its looks are timeless and brilliant and it has the B16B, which is one of the best 4 cylinder engines on the planet. From an engineering standpoint and from a fun standpoint; it truly is one of the greats. Too bad that a lot of the fanbase is comprised of cancerous 12 year olds. It's much like the GTR in that respect.

Evo is my favorite car but man my civic gives me a different feeling so much so that when I get to work this girl always says "hmmm I know what car you drove today." My evo is faster in the long run of course(at the moment )but it is more about what you build your car for and having a arsenal of different feelings of different cars.

    All that "rice" and "lawnmower" hate, was spread all over the world by dumb muscle & pony cars societies, from early 90s. These people don't respect anything, except of an american V8. So they used it to compare themselves with people who own smaller, cheaper and less powerful cars. Because apparently in america you're a badass if you own a classic muscle car and didn't lose to small Civic. And you think ricers are lame... How about a bunch of cowards, fake badasses, who gathered reputation by attacking Honda owners, because modifying a car brings joy, because most of Honda cars have a 4-cylinder engines and they sounds like a 4-cylinder engines, because people love these cars, they love to talk about it, they love to tune it and use it for sport and racing etc. Unfortunately there is no respect for freedom in america, unless it's an american freedom. There are already two generations raised on that kind of a shit against Honda cars. But as for Honda - great cars, I mean Civic, Integra, CR-X, Prelude, S2000, NSX etc. Relatively cheap and reliable (most of them), good looking, lightweight, a whole bunch of aftermarket parts, great for racing and sport, easy to customize. Also an amazing engines, they sound great, and have a tons of potential. Honda cars should have a great, flawless reputation.
