11-25-22!!!!!!! Not sure how many times I have seen this! I can watch it over and over and dream I was there. Long live the king! There never has been his equal. Again along with Joey Dunlop the all-time greatest and king of my writing world!! Cheers to all who read this and all riders, great and small

As an American teenager I had the Honda SP1 on my wall. Epic rider. Hate I never saw him race in person. Managed to meet his wife, daughter and see his nephews race in person. Fantastic country with a passionate people for road racing.

Robert is pure class and so much love for his brother. Rip to you both and now to William Dunlop

3 legends on the podium. I'm honoured to have seen all 3 race, not at the TT but at the Ulster and the NW.

There will never be another Joey. He was my hero as a kid and still is today.

Someone might beat his TT record some day, but there will never be another Joey Dunlop. The man was so humble. He didn't want to be a superstar. He just loved racing motorcycles.

Joey Dunlop must have the most recognizable ARAI sponsored lid ever produced. Keen riders can notice it a mile away. Always wore ARAI, and still do. Honda was 100% always was about the Man Time Trials since day-1, the RC-51 was the hottest thing in 2000. A great time to be a motorcycle rider/racer. R.I.P Joey Dunlop (and family)…

Joey's second pit stop was like clockwork, that rear wheel set up was super trick

Still makes me laugh that Joey told Honda Britain to stick the Fireblade they wanted him to race that year to ride his VTR. And just how quickly Honda got him all the best bits for said bike to the island (and some HRC mechanics iirc or is that just my age?)...bloody legend!!!

@@paulprescott7913 it was probably true he beat R1's at the 1999 Dundrod but i dont think the RC45 would of cut it against the fireblades and R1's in 2000 on the mountain course

I'd imagine he fettled the vtr himself. Honda failed him a few times and he wasn't prepared to take another chance

Every time I drive through Armoy, Stranocum and that part of North, Joey comes to mind...

Man oh man. Great video !!!!! High on my Bucket list.... to visit the Isle at Race time. My Brother who passed away a couple of weeks ago, said he has a friend who's family has a place on the Isle. I'd mentioned that we should go someday.... We can't now... but maybe someday I can. RIP Robert C. Lyons and Joey and Michael Dunlop....

I love the Honda VTR SP

He went from one of the smallest villages in Ireland to the pinnacle of success but never forgot his roots or left County Antrim. Sadly he never got to enjoy the laurels of his victories.

Remember seeing the start of the race from the creg,then leaving to fly back home.i heard in the airport terminal, that DJs bike had given up the ghost, and Joey had won!one of the greatest TT victories ever!

I have 2 pit original pit shirts from the race small and a medium ladies still in the bags from 2000 TT

Gentleman Genius...and A Legend .no one like him....gone bur not Forgotten ...Our unsung Hero Joey Dunlop R.I.P !! ❤

I was lucky enough to be spectating at that race as a 30yr old , and even luckier to once have been offered some of Joey's onions and curry sauce with chips in his Mother's house when I was 11 or 12 , and had been invited by a friend, whose Dad was a racer, to go see the NW200 .

Tribute to these classic races.

pick any year any rider,the one thing that stands out with the tt...these boys had the right stuff and then some,they all have my respect,i can ride,but these boys are next world....respect and rest in peace,heroes one and all.

How many people get knigted twice , never mind a sportsman , R.I.P Sir Joey . Be safe 💝 .

It's amazing to see with all the technology of today they are not going that much faster I think there at the limit today unbelievable Joey is the man !! God bless the Dunlop family I look forward to be able to shake these heros hands especially William such a wonderful young man we will meet again gob bless all who have passed

I’m almost 21 and this makes hair stand up on the back of my neck, I’m not old enough to remember joey but he’s one of my hero’s

24 years ago and still there are recognisable names taking part within the last 5 years.

Was at the Greg in 1996, worst weather ever, first week scrubbed, but got to see Joey, stIll running a JDR, this is a must do for any motorcyclist.

Great race. My dad said this was even better than when Mike Hailwood made his return to the TT in 1978, winning the F1 TT on a Ducati, and the Senior TT the following year on a Suzuki.

What a legend these boys have no fear the tt should be televised by every media company Ireland is a short distance from isle of mann and we can't even televised it a disgrace it's not all about the gaa and fai rip the Dunlop lads heroes
