@Sink's Memes the driver seat hurts my back but that's the only complaint. I completely agree!!! I can't see myself taking a new technology car because of how easy it is to maintain my Lanos ... Literally if I feel it's sluggish, go to auto shop, stop on the side of the road pop in new spark plugs, petrol filter, air filter,battery terminals are tight, off to joburg 😹🙏 later I check mass airflow sensor 😹🙏 back to 💯 but honestly my green monster is so stable on the road, light on fuel, picks up speeds nicely according to my experience... Solid, solid exterior... Mine is 22 years, mostly still original parts, 250km on the clock...never had a windscreen replaced... These new cars get dents quickly and have chips on the glass... Very unattractive 😹🙏 everyone thinks my Lanos is ugly and I could do with a new tech car(esp. my mom haha)... But if I can go to 1 million with it, I sure will 😹

@Sink's Memes strangely enough I don't think it's cheap budget manufactured even though they say so... Consider the plastic dashboard, it's way, way, way more solid than some in the new cars like Renault etc.... And the seat is not even a worry for me 😹🙏 what do I expect from a 99 model haha... I honestly don't think Lanos is only for students or broke people, I think it's someone who appreciates old technology that has minimal hassle, while still wanting a stable and secure drive... I was considering getting a used Jetta 6 or a 120i m sport, but, when I realised costs in the current economy, I decided I'll keep my little green monster, also no one wants to steal it 😹😹😹 so why pay for expensive insurance when I can roll with comfy Nikes using that money😹 I am considering taking the seat to an upholsterer 😃

Oh, I love this car , I've driving this car for 14 years.

I had a 99 Lanos. I had it from 2007 to 2011. It was the 1.5 8v 86cv 3-door hatchback. SX Alpine edition in silver gray color. Alpine stereo, Air Conditioning, power steering, electic windows, Driver airbag... not bad for 90's and early 00's. Good memories.

In our family we have daewoo lanos too. But it's sedan with polish assembly 🇵🇱🇺🇦🇰🇷, so "to jest polski samochód" :)

In 90s I'm proudly wondered a cheap Lanos Sedan in Brazil...good old memories. Easy to maintain, full GM mechanical of Opel Corsa 1.6 16v.

In Spain the 1.5 was only sold with 86 CV. A good engine, reliable, but It had a high consum...good test Joe!!!

@@lordmmx1303 No , the 86hp 1.5 engine has a single camshaft , the one in this video has two camshafts and produces 100hp

It was my first car (1.35 gasoline 85 cv '98), it was not very safety but confortable and honorable, I will love it the rest of my life.

This car was extremely popular in some countries. In Russia it was sold as Chevrolet Lanos mostly.

It's still (somewhat) popular in Poland - reliable, simple (which means cheap repairs) and cheap. If you get a well-cared for Lanos (like my mechanic did), it will last a long time

An old Lanos, from an age, when Daewoo was not Chevrolet. I don't get to see many of them, but just look at it. No nonsense, basic and bare-bone. Wonder what a WTCC version would be like ... a bit more pep, or just looks?

The Lanos was the arch rival of Hyundai Accent, Nissan Pulsar, Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla back in the good old 90s. The only reliable thing on the car was the engine. Other stuff like the dashboard's fit and finish and the gearbox were less impressive and tend to be broken in less than 5 years after ownership. But the Lanos had "luxury" features like ABS brakes, dual front airbags and air-conditioning as standard + cheaper price tag than other Asian compact cars sold in most European countries.

Drive it like you're ubering it.

Just bought a 2002 lanos with 1.5 litre and 5 speed to flat tow behind RV. But needs a timing belt. Can get for a 1.6 but cannot find one for the 1.5. HELP

Nexia and Cielo have same engine, you can buy one for them. Or from Chevrolet dealers, as this car was also sold as a Chevrolet. In Europe you can find parts for them

That is not the accessory belt. I drive a 2008 Chevrolet Spark/Matiz, another GM Daewoo product. I had the exact same sqweak over bumps. It’s the board you place in the boot of hatchbacks so people outside cannot see inside the boot. The way it is hinged is done by a metal rod, connected to the board using little metal brackets. If the metal brackets come slightly undone from the board, the rod it is hinged on will rub on that metal bracket and sqweak over bumps.
