    Awesome video. Thank you. Little Pro tip. Opening break fluid container makes collapsing the caliper crazy easy. Also taking the impact to the axle nut, but with the wheel on and on the ground also makes it so much easier to get the nut broken.

    Thanks for the video. It helped me greatly. I did the passenger side but the procedures were the same. Thanks for providing the torque specifications. I would have been lost without your guidance. Keep up the good work.

    I admire your determination working on your own vehicle. If I may make a few suggestions on the brake procedure... Remove the rust from the hub before installing the new rotor; this reduces runout. Also remove the clips and remove any rust with a file. The pads will fit too tight otherwise. Well done!

    thanks for taking the time to help us with are repairs i really enjoyed the class hey just a friendly fyi to let beginners know that they need to open the brake reservoir so they can release the pressure and to make sure the brake fluid doesn't get on anything which will cause a lot of headache

    Isn’t the gear oil just transmission fluid? Can’t you just top off the fluid by filling it up via the transmission dip stick hole for automatics?

    When you pulled the cv axle out what was that liquid that came out? Was that transmission fluid? Asking because I just had mind replaced and when I got home the next day I had a stain in my driveway.

    Has anybody done the passenger side for an 05 1.8L? For the A/T model, the service manual says something about inserting a screwdriver in a slot and striking it. I wonder if that means from the removed drivers side cavity, I can't figure it out (p 14 in FAX of manual). For driver side, just pry off the axel carefully. Thanks for the video, best wishes!

    What did you end up doing it get the passenger side axel off?

  • @davidm3210

    @davidm3210

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TheOfficialLBG I wedged a medium pry bar in there and it popped out, pretty easy like the drivers side. I had to pry it at a weird angle, but it worked (I think that instead of prying outward toward the wheel, I pried inward). Harbor Freight makes a set of three pry bars that have a handle and a crooked tip that is kind of flat -that's what I used. I was surprised to see that the seal was depressed in the transmission quite a bit (on the drivers side it was flush to the housing), and I was worried that I pushed it in somehow, but several months later all is well.

    next time just resurface the old rotor..its cheaper, also use brake cleaner on a new rotor,,its covered with anti rust grease, when removing the carter pin use side cutters and use leverage and removing bolts with a hammer put the nut back on the end so u dont smash the treads, when removing axle, disconnect the steering rod
