200-year-old shop Japanese sweets craftsman

The history of Japanese sweets dates back to the Jomon period. It is made by crushing tree nuts and removing the slag with water. This is said to be the beginning of dumplings.
After that, Japanese sweets evolved under the influence of interaction with Tang (present-day China) and the development of the tea ceremony culture. By incorporating various ingredients and developing manufacturing and processing methods, high quality and beautifully shaped Japanese sweets have been created while utilizing traditional techniques.
On the other hand, traditional Japanese dumplings and rice cakes have been strongly liked, which is a characteristic of Japanese confectionery culture. Japanese sweets, which are indispensable for year-round events, continue to be loved because they are deeply linked to Japanese traditional culture.
