Ғылым және технология

Can a 200 Watt wireless stereo amplifier for $300 be any good? Well, if you can't run wires from your AV receiver or processor to your side, rear surround, height speakers, or subwoofer then Dynasty Proaudio's WSA-5RP-PLUS Wireless Surround Sound Rear Speaker Kit may be just the solution. With 50w per channel in stereo and up to 200w of power in bridged mono into 8 Ohms, this plug-n-play, peer-to-peer, wireless streaming amplifier may be just the solution you're looking for. It runs on both 5.8 and 5.2 GHz wireless bands, has low latency, and sends audio at 24-bit/48kHz. Best of all, it gets WAF approval.

These tiny amps are so exciting for budget audiophiles. I really believe companies like Dynasty are going to keep the everyday consumer engaged in the hobby. While many receiver manufacturers have more than doubled their prices compared to 5 years ago, amplification is getting cheaper and cleaner than ever before. I just picked up my 3rd Snell SUB 550 which is a sealed 12" passive sub. I'm using this one with my C Note computer speakers so I wanted a compact amplifier which could fit on my desk. I find a used Aiyima A1002 for $40 and now my basic 2.1 system is working flawlessly for next to nothing.

I have been using this setup and it simply works. Sound is nominal for my rear surrounds, via Denon and Klipsch.

Are you telling me I have to read (gulp) the owner's manual? 😅 Now, seriously, I do not have an immediate necessity for this kind of equipment. However, it is good to know it does exist!

Of all these mini class D amps the best sounding under 200$ is the RSL mini amp.

I have this one's less powered sibling, the WSA-5RP, and I have been quite pleased with them these past two years. I use then in a 5.1.2 setup to power the surrounds.

That's actually pretty damn cool, but I'd like just a lossless wireless preamp so that I could use any amplifier "wirelessly".

The technology is more promising. It can allow a complete wireless AVR + speaker set for living rooms with high decor.

A straight monoblock is slightly easier IMO, so that people can place near the speaker.

BTL(bridged) mode accomplishes the same thing though. Although, we didn't see distortion/snr numbers for BTL mode, and sometimes the technical performance in bridged mode is inferior in amplifiers vs a normal single channel output, so that would be nice to see. But yes, absolutely, that seems like it would be the only, or at least primary, use case of a "wireless" amplifier, where each speaker had it's own wireless amp so that it was essentially invisible and there were no cords needed besides power close to the speaker. If you're going to have to run speaker cables anyways, I'm not sure I see the point. If you just want wireless source capability, there are LDAC solutions for that, like if you want to stream from your phone or PC or something that can be made to be compatible with the LDAC protocol.

"200 watts $300" = CLICKBAIT! Only at 4 ohms. Only bridged. Only if you buy two. AND -- as understood from the video -- you need a second transmitter! So it sounds like running a bridged pair would be $800? And I heard comment attributed to Gene "bridged not recommended into 4 ohm load"! If I'm misunderstanding something, please let me know...

  • @Audioholics

You misunderstood stuff. You don't need 2 transmitters to bridge 2 amps. 100wpcx2 into 4 ohms and 200 watts bridged into 8 is pretty impressive for a cheap pint-sized amp. Bridging into 4 ohms w real-world speakers will be fine if you're not maxing the unit out constantly. However, most amps in bridged mode aren't recommended for 4 ohm speakers since the current demand is 4fold in such scenarios since each amp effectively sees half the load impedance.

@@Audioholics Is the power supply external? And if so, could you not source a higher current power supply of the same voltage and potentially increase the stable/continuous, and/or peak, output? If it's SMPS limited at 4 ohms and 100/200 watts, then it seems like this would be an option.

  • @Audioholics

@@Artcore103 No only the transmitter has an external power source. The power amp must be a kit design with integrated SMPS.

@@Audioholics Thanks for the clarification about the transmitter(s). I stand by my original clickbait statement because 200 watts in STEREO costs $600 -- and is only available bridged in 4 ohms -- AND 4 OHMS IS NOT RECOMMENDED?
