$200 Ninja Complete Wrecked Bike Rebuild / Custom Cafe Racer

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I bought a 08 Ninja 250 in TERRIBLE condition, wrecked, not running, and no title so I purchased the bike for $200 dollars and turned it into a spectacular cafe racer for under $800!! I had 500GB worth of footage so apologize for the length but its worth watching this wrecked bike rebuild!

Awesome job it looks great. Looks like the front end sits a little high. I'd let the fork tubes slide through the triple trees about an inch to lower it a little, or raise the back up about an inch. But yea looks better than brand new

I'm doing the same thing to my 07 650r. If you refab the head light assembly to sit lvl or under the fuel tank it will pull it together. It doesn't look right with the dash and lights up that high. I deleted the dash on mine and put in some leds. Also the cowling doesn't look right up that high. Drop your clip ons lvl with the bottom of the tank. No cafe racer is in the upright position. Honestly with how high up the front forks or it looks more like a wanna be bolt trying to be a chopped out dyna. Also gotta hide all the wiring and lines. Coming along nice, long way to go. Can't wait to see it finished.

Nice, And yeah I should’ve actually physically trimmed up the fairings Because if you push it down for the tow it’s gonna stick really far away from the forks and that light level is way too high already. I definitely need to change it.

  • @Benjamminoutdoors

Some bike frames will accommodate custom tank better than others, i’m not sure if yours will accommodate one very well I don’t know the 650s very well. I’ll tell you what though it’s gonna be hard to make it fit perfect most likely.

Great job on the build. Looks really nice. Was wondering if you went back and altered the ride height or the front half of the exhaust at all. Was looking at your ride at the end 49:18. If the exhaust came out from the engine another inch, then ran parallel with your frame/coolant overflow it would be slightly cleaner. As for the ride height, if the swing arm allowed a bigger tire or you dropped the front end an inch it could have a more forward lean giving it a more aggressive stance. I'm rebuilding an 06 currently and without swapping the swing arm can't increase mine so cut 1.25" from the forks.

Ingress the construction from the frontshield does not last very long because the vibrations. Nice work anyway and the next one gets even better. Greetings from Germany 🤙🏻

Yes the sub frame is not a huge structural part of the bike you could even cut the sub frame completely off and ride it. It’s main purpose is just to hold electrical parts and yourself.

The headlight and front fairing is a bit too high. Looks awkward.

Personally cafe-racers aren't my thing, but I agree with others that the headlight assembly needs lowered down a bit. Also, you have turn signals already built into the headlight if I'm not mistaken. I would double-check your wiring, if that's the same headlight as mine you have a wire for the side "rings" to be white for day-time running, and they're switchback to yellow for turning. I could be wrong though, there's a few different Chinese variations of that headlight but it looks identical to mine. How'd you figure out the radiator-cap temperature gauge? Is it an aftermarket part or did you fabricate a gauge into a cap? Also, that exhaust needs some attention. Honestly for budget, I'd say just bend the top of the headers and cut off some of the bottom pipe so it's angle matches the frame more and then grind it down and high-temp black paint.

Well the way this particular fairing is set up if I move it down further it’s going to push the headlight out really far forward I need to trim the plastic up so it sits perfect, and it does have Amber lights but they are not independent there’s only one power wire that illuminates both sides at the same time so they will not work as turn signals. The temperature gauge radiator cap was off eBay and it’s fairly common among motocross bikes. And I need to clean the exhaust up but I am happy with where it is.
