The enemy chef in the competition is surprisingly chill and actually a great cook. For some reason, I like that a lot
Fun fact: the disciple who poisoned Ping Yee's dish in the early part of the movie is actually Sammo Hung's (Ping Yee's actor) son.

The first movie that comes to mind with these 3 is Dragons Forever. They're like DC's Trinity.

I feel this would be plausible, as fish are quite simple when it comes to movement, and have been known to keep moving even if large chunks of their bodies are removed.

I LOL'd at the description but having seen this movie I knew how it happened. I did try and rationalize how it could be true on a technicality. Like, the fish was already dead to begin with so he wasn't actually 'killing' it.
The chefs morals and kindness is on a different level even when his nephew kicks him out of the village and tries to kill him, the chef still didn't kill him because he considered him family.
