I think this list is wrong. There are/were restaurants that I would love to come back. They had great food. Bankruptcy doesn't mean they had bad food.

Who could not wish Howard Johnson’s would come back. Fried clams 28 flavor of ice cream.

Unfortunately mis-management & over extending the corporation by building too many establishments too fast-???🤔.

I loved Sambo's as a kid! They had great food I take them back any day over half the restaurants that are here now!

We ate at two Sambo's back in the '70s and the food was delicious, but much like Denny's, quality waned over time. Steak and Ale had fabulous steaks every time I ate there; I hope the new one in Burnsville, Minnesota makes a ton of money and expands as this steakhouse is superb. Open one in Pittsburgh, pretty please? 🥩🥩🥩🥩

I remember most of the restaurants from television commercials but there weren't to many of these restaurant chains here in my state of Oklahoma but there were some in nearby Texas towns across the Red River though but Thanks for the Memories. 🇺🇲🥤🍔🍟🍦🇺🇲

The title of this video is restaurants from the 70s, but they talked about at least one that was started in the 90s. Misleading title. Also, I agree with the other comment that some of these restaurants are not ones we don’t want to come back.

Inworked at Sambos man those units were the BEST. Flame broiled meats. Pancakes eggs the whole spectrum and really REALLY reasonable even on a 2.35 minimum wage.

I remember the Wimpy's location in downtown Park Rapids, Minnesota as a kid growing up in the seventies and eighties, and it had a quiet, but fun atmosphere. The food was actually pretty good. Sadly, this location closed in 2010. I also remember the Arthur Treacher's fish and Chips in Grand Forks, North Dakota in the late 1970s, and the Fish and Chips were actually very good. I actually also remember Bennigan's in Virginia Beach, Virginia outside of the Lynnhaven Mall while I served in the navy in that area 1990-1994. I remember Bennigan's as a very light, lively, and fun place to relax and have good food.

Victoria Station in Atlanta hung on for a long time ..in the late 70's it was considered "pretty up there " a bit better than just an "everyday" joint

Beefsteak Charlie's was the first place I ever had an all-you-can-eat salad bar and my family went back often because of it. I miss that place! For the time, they had decent steaks, too.

I disagree with this list, as the restaurants weren't unpopular, but were forced to close due to financial issues. I would LOVE to have Shakey's Pizza Parlor back, I can still taste that pizza, and never thought it was greasy. A great teenage memory. I also remember them passing out song sheets of popular songs parents and grandparents of the time knew. The player piano would start up, and everyone, young and old, would sing out.e
