Usually in some formal circles, people even state the other person's name in some sort of acknowledging way.

Incredibly witty and masterfully done episode. A great resource for those learning the language and everyday English culture. Most people don't dwell any longer on this everyday phenomenon because they think there's nothing in it to surprise them. This video shows how wrong they are and that it pays to catch up.

Oh, I love your videos 😁 so much fun to watch! I do remember my first time in London. I was a teen then, and pretty bad at english in school (I’m fourty now, and still working on it 😅) I went shopping at Harrods with my dad, and the salesperson asked me: „How are you?“ ...I remember thinking - wow... what a nice salesman he is... english people are so kind! - ...and told the guy, that „this is my first time being in London, and I‘m on holiday with my Dad“... The guy looked at me, like I‘m a weirdo and walked away. 🙈 Embrassing for me. But I have to say, I‘m from Germany, and when you ask in german „wie geht‘s dir?“ (how are you), 😁germans will answer that and let you know, how they feel and what they’re up to. Right away!

Ahh, thanks for your kind words! 😁 It's nice to know that people are enjoying the episodes. Unfortunately, you had walked straight into the trap that catches many people, even I fall for it every once in a while. It's bizarre how this "fake" question (which has kind of become a statement) has become so mainstream; if you watch any celeb on a red carpet they'll walk past fans and photographers being like; "Hi, how are you? Hi, how are you?" However, I feel that if someone was to reply to me I wouldn't walk away without some kind of response 🤷‍♂️ Are there any other subjects you'd like us to cover?

@@EasyEnglishVideos That‘s true. 🙂 Thank you for answering.... ☺️ and asking. Actually, there is a topic I‘m a bit unsecure with. I would appreciate it, if you could make a short video about correspondence. I always use „dear...“ and „with many regards...“ (After a while this feels boring an uncreative 😅) I would like to know, some examples for formal and informal greetings and sendoffs. And how I best write these in official letters or emails. Btw. I‘m very happy about your latest upload. (‚moving to England‘) 😊👍

@@jualanda That's a great suggestion! I was actually toying with the idea of greetings and farewells outside of real life for things like writing letters, emails and also for gaming and other ways of meeting/greeting people 😁

Hello there! Another incredible episode, well done Mitch and Isi! The only greeting that I didn't have cognizance of is definitely the last one and surprisingly it actually sits well with me the most :). And well, I wouldn't say that 2:24 to a stranger already seen a couple of times, I didn't know that cultural differences are that remarkable 😂😅:)

Sure! "easy" in this context means chilled or relaxed. So "easy now" can be said as a response or an exclamation/greeting.
