I think they will also add a stun attack, something like a sonic wave that deals some damage, slows you down and give darkness and weakness

FYI, wardens don’t spawn in ancient cities specifically. They spawn from shriekers being activated, which can be anywhere in the deep dark biome. Also, they have a ranged attack. Also, there isn’t “a” warden. It’s a type of mob. Meaning if you just sprint around the ancient city after killing one, you’ll end up spawning like 20 more. Shriekers are the real enemy. Get rid of all those and wardens can’t spawn.

@@c1oudsky I believe, atleast on Java that only 2 wardens can spawn from shriekers. I was playing around on creative and was able to spawn 1, and another spawned a second after. As long as there are creatures around that they can hear/smell, they won’t de spawn. Though one of them did despawn when there wasn’t anything they could kill

I love how he says "these will be some of the most practical ways to kill the warden" and proceeds to tell you to fill the entire deep dark with magma blocks, and also flood it, just in case.

A tip for everyone in order to raid the deep dark: Bring Lots of Wool blocks The plan is to cover the shriekers with wool on all sides (placing wool blocks don't make noise, so you won't activate sensors) and then when your in the clear break them with an efficiency hoe (you can find those in the loot places scattered around the map). For multiple shriekers, cover the top of all the other shriekers while you deal with the first (breaking a shrieker activates a sensor) and continue breaking them until there are none left. Then your free to loot the deep dark!

Here is a avoiding method! Raid ancient city’s if you have a efficiency diamond hoe! They can be found in the city chest once you have the high efficiency hoe you can start taking out shriekers left right and centre :)

use wool to be silent, put the wools around the blocks that detect sound :) also use shift and try to get the new enchantment that makes you go faster when using shift... it was something like "depth speed" idk

1 way to ACTUALLY defeat the warden FOR GOOD: Destroy every single sculk shrieker, and sprint jump sneak away any time doing so summons a warden. This causes the warden to essentially _go extinct._

4:16 Weakness potions will actually act as strength potions to the Warden. All potions effects are reversed on undead mobs. So a splash potion of poison acts as regeneration, and vice versa

Okay, I was mistaken. SOME potion effects are reversed on undead mobs. Harming heals them, and I'm going to assume healing hurts them. As for the weakness, I tried that and it made the zombie weaker. As a second test, I gave one Zombie Swiftness and another Zombie Slowness. Neither effect was reversed. I could have sworn all potion effects were reversed on undead mobs though.

The warden is no longer considered undead.

I discovered the other day that the warden can actually kill the wither about 70% of the time, and it will have a about 30-50 health left after its done, if you're struggling to kill either of them I would recommend having them fight each other

Honestly the sonic boom attack seems like its gonna become a exploitable troll tool if people manage to get the warden out of the deep dark

Unfortunately, some of these no longer work because the Warden has a range attack, is immune to fire damage, and can't drown underwater, making him an even stronger monstrosity.

i was really scared but with these methods I was able to die faster thank you

Since he got ranged attack (sonic boom), it will go through walls and even shields, but the sonic boom only goes 20 blocks far, so the true 10/10 method is to build 21 blocks up and shoot him with a power 5 bow and also he is no longer undead so use a harming 2 tipped arrow

For the iron golems, they can be repaired with iron. So you could use one golem to kill the warden if you have at least a stack of iron ingots.

I actually defeated the warden easily, here's a strategy: Go to the deep dark/ ancient city find an area without a sculk shrieker build an iron golem and put a lead on it. do this until you have 10 iron golems. Summon the warden with the closest shrieker and detach the leads.

The frost walker magma thing makes extreme sense. Since it’s literally frost, it will make you colder and be able to resist hotter temperatures like magma.

7:11 thank you for including an option for those who hate sand, me and Anakin won’t have to deal with any more flashbacks.

Updated best method for dealing with the warden: make a two block high tunnel so he can't reach you. Then, when he uses the sonic boom attack, block with your shield to entirely negate the damage

The warden’s ranged attack is not as strong as it’s melee attack, but unlike the melee attack armor doesn’t reduce damage from the ranged one

I would like to introduce to you a method I call the SUPER FISHER, that was only first figured out in the latest episode of Double Life. I dunno exactly how it worked, but someone got a Warden outside, and had it in a lake for over a week. Four people hooked it with fishing rods and all pulled at the same time. The Warden ROCKETED into the air, and instantly died upon impact.

spruce method should be placed higher, it has high panic potential, easy to set up and takes a shot amount of time. Also it does not consist of tons of unstackable items eating up inventory space

fun fact: the warden has an ability called the sonic boom, its basically him shooting things. it is super op and will instantly kill anything it hits. it does this if the player is far away from the warden. for example, being 7 blocks away can cause the warden to do that ability

We may need to take drastic measures"* "Wait, the warden is one creature? One creature has been defeating all of our attack efforts?" *"Yes sir"* "Well, how do we plan on defeating it?" *"So we have this massive fricking cannon... **0:10**"*

For a bit in the dark when you went to the end, i saw the lightning glitch thing where darkness turns Red yellow (AND PURPLE SOMETIMES).

You can actually use the wither. Surprisingly, they will usually win even now because the warden's ranged attack simply does not do enough damage to the wither, and the wither can regenerate health.

Since the warden moves so fast makes it impossible to escape from him you'll need a swiftness potion or ender pearls in order to escape

9:46 - yes. That is how I clear out cave spider spawners when I don't have any milk on me. (I'd dig a tunnel upwards so I'm vertically above the spawner, then douse the whole thing with lava) So, pretty intuitive that it would work on wardens. So, just put some lava down, and pillar up out of the warden's range as the warden approaches. Edit: I just realized that the Warden has fire resistance

You could use 5 golems and have a lot of iron ingots on your hotbar, so you can team-fight and heal them as well

Yeah I have iron farm and I took 7 stack of iron. It defeat 1 warden but the other one comes from back and destroyed me lol 😆

Out of the methods listed i think the suffacation is the one i'll use. Because i could get out of range of the range attack after setting up the kill

In BE you can just use the 30 seconds of regen 5 a notch apple gives you to basically be immune, cobweb it and do whatever you want (harming arrow spam, crystals (my favorite), letting it hit you so you can P-crit it, etc.

Not to be rude, but there’s been an update and warden is immune to lava and has a ranged attack so lava bucket and building won’t work.

A very simple method that I'm sure mojang may never remove from the game that was probably on the 10 out of 10 list was "hit and run." Essentially, it's the most basic attack strategy that players use to get a hostile mob attention. Simply run towards the warden and attack him before running away. Everytime the Warden attacks, he announces his attack to the player for a few moments before attacking them which ultimately allows you to buy yourself some time to escape by getting a high ground. It's recommended to face him while he has the home territory mainly because the high structures offer many turns that will help with dodging the projectiles. This also gives you many chances to crit him out since you aren't too far from the Warden and it's not too hard to perform a crit while running.(This method is best performed with potions of swiftness and strength for a faster kill.) Also, another method is to use the environment against it by luring to an area where you'll have the advantage like the overworld where it's much easier to dodge his attacks and attack him in areas that allow you to gain higher ground. There are many things such as trees and villages that you can use to gain higher ground and allow for easy maneuvering and since the Warden can't climb up a village house or tree, it's very easy to evade him while attacking. In the end, as long as proper distance and maneuvering space can be maintained, taking down the Warden will not be a problem. The fight pretty much ends once you have the high ground that's not a one block space.

@@babygurl32710 As long as you can move fast and keep the high ground while critting him from above, you should have much issues unless the Warden has a friend. Ideally, attacking him from his home area is the best option because of the way the ceiling structure is set up though. If you still have trouble, use strength and swiftness potions.

Shulker are actually quite useful against the warden if the warden is high enough when the levitation effect wears off he'll take enough fall damage

Nice ideas but some of them no longer work due to the warden’s ranged attack

I have some problems with some of these… the warden have a ranged attack that can kill many mobs at once, so the multiple mob tactic is a no go… and you want to do drip stone or something else, the warden is lava resistant.

FunFact: The first ranged weapon was actually a quiver that fired an infinite amount of arrows

The pufferfish 1 is the best I haven't tried it out yet but I'm already in the deep dark in Minecraft so I'm gonna try this out IN Survival mode After I build this thing

Given how the warden works currently the best way to beat him is just to mine up all of the shreakers you won't be able to spawn if they're not there and if he does you can just leave for a minute and let him do you spawn destroying all of the shreakers then there will be no one to stop you on your way to explore this city so long as you don't accidentally help generate more

Most of these might get patched (the wither one too) Also a warden can still spawn even after killed so there's that too

The wither one won't get fixed since undead mobs can't attack wither.

Use Gravel if you don't like sand. Anakin: YES

you can combine the entity cramming and suffocation strategies for even faster kill

"If you don't want to torture the warden" Pfft, who doesn't want to torture an unkillable mob (By unkillable I mean you can't 1v1 melee it)

You sorta can. You'll have to rely on hit and run with potions of swiftness and strength and move quickly through the environment. By doing this, you can easily get out of the warden's melee range and only have to worry about the sonic blast that could be avoided by building above the warden or using quick turns. This will only work if you have the high ground though and a weapon that can do crit damage.

9:23 Actually it makes sense since frost walker cools down your feet so you won't take damage from heat.

We all know that the reason why you shouldn’t do that is because if you crouch on magma you won’t take damage paired with swift sneak it’s just a better way not to mention frost walker is the perfect way to ruin your armour

The maze trick will turn this into a new way of making horror games for minecraft

No matter how much Mojang buffs the Warden, Boffy will always find some unorthodox way to defeat it.

I don't like sand it's course ruff irritating and it gets everywhere

OP mob, also yes i know its primarily to be as Obstacle rather than enemy, its still weird it doesnt drop anything for your struggle if you manage to slay him.

Wait a minute.. can't you just build a 4 by 4 hole, trap the warden in it Make another 1 by 1 hole a couple blocks away, go in the 1 by 1 hole then just kill it?
