I think it was because he was a gag character when he was introduced into the series. Gag characters have been known to be able to take an intense beating and get up with minimal injuries. Vegeta even broke the 4th wall in the dragonball super/Dr. Slump crossover stating that she’s a gag character

The reason those 4 universes were excluded from the tournament is not because they were so strong, it was because of their "mortal level" being high, which meant how much of a good job their Gods of Destruction were doing. A high mortal level meant less villainy and evil going around and higher standards to the moral and ethical quality of it's champions and the level of peace amongst it's civilizations. Beerus's universe was one of the lowest mortal levels because he was a lazy bum who slept most of the time and allowed villains like Freiza, Majin Buu, etc... to run amok.

Did they ever OFFICIALLY define what "mortal level" stood for? Realistically it could mean anything from strength or number of lives to equality or generosity. We don't truly know, and they probably never will state it unless they bring it back up later as another plot hole because they forgot things.

Yes we do know what "mortal level" means, it's the measure of the morality of the mortals in those universes. Those 4 universes had Gods that did their jobs in a way that Zeno deemed so fit that they were excluded from being in a tournament where the losers were erased. They were not " too strong" they were too cool

Master Roshi offing people in the tournament of power was one of the major highlights of that saga. Considering the fact that they play Roshi for gags all the time in the series now. It was refreshing to see him actually showcasing his true power and showing everyone why he was once Goku and krillins master.

Amazingly Morbid 3 isnt even a plot hole

According to one of the movies, characters sent to hell do not get new bodies, the ones that go to the better after lives do get new bodies. So good guys can be wished back after being vaporized because they’ll bring their new body, but bad guys have a problem if they were butchered. Obviously resurrection F plays havoc with that explanation but maybe the new body was part of Freeza’s punishment, he needed to feel immobilized or something.

If i remember correctly, Kami before he joined Piccolo was the one who restores their bodies. When Gokuu died he took his body with the soul to underworld. But with Frieza, nobody picked up his body.

Can we just talk about Piccolo‘s hearing? Sometimes it’s miles or “ahem”galaxies away good, and then you get his battles in the TP...even with all the fighting going on, shouldn’t he have been able to hear his attackers coming? The writers just don’t know what to do with him, and forget what he can do. Frustrating, and a pity.

The Royal Blue transformation makes a lot of sense when you realize that Dragon Ball has slowly been giving each Saiyan a unique transformation, to set them apart and give them from one another. Goku now has Ultra Instinct, Gohan got Mystic a while ago (and has also hinted at a future new form), Future Trunks got SSJ Rage, and now Vegeta has Royal Blue.

There's a special manga chapter that shows what Trunks and Goten were doing at the island while everyone was away. They were fighting Cell Jrs who managed to survive their deaths through regeneration and they were like guard dogs to Android 17. No one died so they may return again (as allies even!)

I would call vegeta's latest form "Super Saiyan Dynamic Blue", which would be defined as mixture of SSJ 1.3 or turn 3 (the muscular one) and SSJ 1 Normal State

How about this? Who is the super sayian god that is supposed to kill beerus? Remember that the only reason he went looking for goku was because he recieved a prophecy saying he would be killed be a super sayian god. Personally i have a theory that it will be time-breaker bardock.

theory to why only Goku knows Kao-ken. It takes a lot to master it as it is super power and draining. When goku first used it with super saiyan blue...he nearly became powerless (and will risk that anytime he does it). so my guess King Kai only taught him it because Goku's superior power level compared to the others was just enough to be able to use it

Only Goku can do this technique as well as the spirit bomb because he is pure hearted and it is why cell and Goku black couldn't do this techniques either....

I think a lot of people miss what they are going with since introducing Ultra Instinct. Instead of raw power, skill and experience are the determining factors. It is a retcon, but allows for us to get away from the Super Saiyan Super Show that we got stuck with in the end of Z and the embarrassment that was GT. It actually allows for there to be room for all the classic characters to have a place. Krillin might not be able to stand up to the sheer raw power of someone like Jiren, but he's almost on of the most experienced fighters they have. It's much better to allow for him and the others to have a place, and not just stand around because raw power is all that matters.

When shenron brings killlin back after namek he tells bulma i have even deconstructed his body meaning he didn't want to reconstruct friezas

Kami gave Chiaotzu a new body when he was killed so that he could be revived.

Launch is a truck driver you see her giving Goku energy during the buu saga

The biggest plot hole in super to me is how the hell is future trunks able to come back to the past of a completely different timeline? Everytime he goes back in time it should be another timeline right?(since going back didnt affect his) Also how did mai become young again? She was like an adult in dragonball and now shes under 10 and her and trunks are supposed to end up together

For number 17, people are brought back in however condition they were before they died. When frieza was wished back, he was still in pieces, yes, but he was still alive

The Dinosaurs can be easily explained away. At some point someone probably used the dragon balls to wish them back from extinction. As for Frieza's revival as bite sized chunks. That was because he was a cyborg when he came to earth. Shenron could only recreate those parts because they were the only parts of Frieza within the earth's influence and as he explained when Oolong tried to use him to destroy the saiyans he can only exert power over things within the influence of Kami. I could explain more but that's for my upcoming dissertation "Unraveling the mysteries of the Dragon Balls."

Another thing I noticed when watching dbz in the cell saga was trunks had cut his hair short, but after the 10 days had passes and the time had come to beat cell, he gets his hairlength back to what it was before entering the timechamber. How can someone have gotten that much hair in only 10 days xD

2:00 , i dunno, beerus may have been telling the truth of killling all the dinosaurs. The reason they exist currently, is possibly because Bulma's father Mr. brief, brought them all back to life through science and released them into the wild. I mean the series sort of hints at this, seeing how her family is renowned for major inventions and discoveries, plus Mr. Brief does have a nature preserve lab which is home to dinosaurs.

the new Powerscale is Berruses Tree :D we sometimes call it the scouttree or castle scout. Now his powerlevel is not over 8000 but over the tree.

The super Dragonball creator isn’t from Namek. They already said the Namekian stole pieces from the Super Dragon Balls, pay attention.

Hiren Dragon was never canon. He gets it in Tree of Might movie I think, it's been a while since I watched that one. I only have it on VHS with it's original NON FUCKED WITH BACKROUND MUSIC unlike the shittastic Funi dub which replaced the scored like dickheads.

One actual plot hole is the fact that Emperor Pilaf, Shu and Mai have been given child-age bodies (presumably via the DragonBalls) - an event that originally only occurred in DragonBall GT, and was never shown or explained in DBZ or Super. We know it's body age regression and not eternal youth because of the potential future in the Goku Black/Zamasu arc, where Mai has grown into a woman again...

The scouter and defined power levels at the start of z were there because it was a demonstration that the saiyans and freeza force didn’t believe that you could change your total power greatly. Once a low-class, always a low class. They removed scouters and power levels when Goku convinces the audience that anyone can beat anyone with hard work.

Honestly, I think power scaling could work if they did a massive number crunch. Beerus could be 1,000, making Whis 1,500, and work down from there.

I wouldn't be able to find it again but I did find ONE DB power scaling video that was really good and made more sense than any other I'd seen the guy. Couldn't even tell you what it was. Something to do with physics I think. It was that intelligent a theor though that it could just be sheer luck it made the scaling more understandable and bit less extreme

My thoughts on this maybe these are just views into one of many different AU's or time lines? that would explain many of the inconsistency in the story and plot holes.

What about the whole thing where the gods in Future Trunks’ timeline were the gods of Universe 10 (I think, forgive me I am operating off of memory here) NOT Shin and Kibito. That has always bugged me. Especially given the thing where Future Bulma was only supposed to have built a time machine but CLEARLY built a TARDIS. Time Lords: Origins.

Tien knows the Kaio-Ken from the Daizenshuu and the games. As well as a guide for Toyotarous super, also it was stated that jiren was the strongest in ALL 12 universes, making your original statement about the four void. And doctor pig face, has his ability explained. He has magic that allows him to not be removed from the stage in ANY circumstance. But was knocked off before he could cast any spells.

Ok so those 4 Universes were excluded not because they were too powerful (no idea where you got that),but because their gods did "good enough" at doing their jobs as gods. TOP was an excuse to give lazy gods universes a chance to stay, instead of being erased by Omni-king. A chance of redemption as it was steated if super dragon ball wish wasn't used to bring back universes that lost, all competing universes would've been destroyed.

when goku was in other world and took part in the tournament they said he was from one of the earths I don't know if that was something random thrown in there or if there are several earths from the north, south, east, and west parts of the universe.

A huge plot hole is how in the t.o.p do krillin and the rest of the low power lvl cast were able to watch goku and them fight. When back in dbz it been stated on numerous occasions that if your not close to their power lvl you cant see the fight. They're gods and ultra instinct going around and they can still keep up with the fight.

Re: Zalama and the REAL plot hole. Shenron can't grant a wish that "exceeds the power" of his creator, Kami, which is why it didn't work when they tried to use a wish to kill the incoming Saiyans waaay back at the start of Z, because they were stronger than Kami. And it's reasonable to assume the same holds true for other Dragons, like Porunga and Super Shenron. So if Super Shenron can so easily undo the erasure of multiple universes, a power granted only to Zeno the Supreme Ruler of all the Multiverse . . . then just how powerful is Zalama???

Bulma is technically younger than Goku. She’s never been in the hyperbolic time chamber if you think about it, so...

Personally I didn’t care about Goten and Trunks watching the island, I was just happy 17 got his boat.

For my the very mysterious thing is Goku and Bulma is absolutely not remembered Pilaf and his cronies 😅

If you ask me, the fact all the sayians that Frieza destroyed in DBZ should've come back to life. After all, the wish was made to bring back everyone that Frieza had killed and it should've brought back the sayians and their planet, after all Frieza destroyed it. However, there's no explanation on it and no one bothered to check.

Where are all the animal-headed-people/beings? Like, talking bears and stuff that we saw in DB? Did they disappear in 20 years or were they just not shown to the audience?

bulma couldn't have used the dragonballs to make herself younger constantly as earths dragonballs cant duplicate wishes

For number 17, it's because Freiza was still alive in those chunks, he died when Trunks obliterated the chunks. Shenron can only wish you back in your last "living" state. For 18, Goten and Trunks fought a Cell Jr. according to the manga

King Kai exclaims to himself that Goku has a unique body that can somewhat take the harmful side affects of the kaio-ken and that he himself couldn't even actually use it.

And the power scaling was officially explained as an inefficient way to gauge levels and that a person's experience and problem solving skills always added up to a much stronger person than you could gauge with a scouter. Most of these aren't even plot holes and have are explained. It's better to stick to subjects you know

mortal ranking has nothing to do with the level of power of that universes inhabitants.

why is nobody talkin about why mai is kid in dbs and adult in db i think its one of the biggest plot holes and also pilaf is rich af in db but poor in dbs and how is it possible to create androids that are made of earth’s materials but are many times harder to destroy than earth itself and how can piccolo become so much stronger after merging with kami that he could just seperate himself and merge again and become everytime like 2 times stronger

1- if i remember correctly they were cursed... 2- Namekian Fusions are permanent.

Bulma's age confused me pretty badly when I learned of it. Goku was 14 when Bulma was 16, which would mean that Goku is 36 in beginning of Super. I believe that by the Piccolo saga, the time would've progressed by 5 years (if I remember correctly), which would make Goku 19, and then you have x years between the end of DB and the beginning of Z (maybe 5 more?). Gohan is 4 years old in the beginning of Z, so if we suppose that he was born when Goku was 20 (bear with me here), that would make Gohan 16 in the beginning of Super and he is already having a kid. When you put into account that saiyajins age significantly slower than humans and Gohan is only half human, making him physically younger than a 16 year old human. Yeah.... this doesn't make sense at all. Maybe Bulma wished to be younger, but that does not change her birthdate and that would make it silly to celebrate her 38th birthday twice.

The capsule corp revived dinosaurs but they were all extinct by a meteorite on Goku's earth as well.

I think the biggest plot hole or rather inconsistency would be why dr. Gero did not give 17 and 18 the same ability to absorb energy as he did to himself and 19. I know it's because they had an infinte power source but still....would been a nice ability that basically means their opponents could only fight at close range fisticuffs....

How is Pilaf and his crew still young children? Didn't they wish for that in the beginning of GT?

GT is not canon. It is explained in the Battle of Gods film, they wished for themselves to be younger but it backfired making them kids again. They make mention to it. Go watch Super or the Battle of Gods movie.

k imma just say this cause no one else has from what I can see. the 4 universes that weren't in the TOP were never stated to be "too powerful to be in the tournament", they just had a higher mortal level than the other universes, meaning that there mortals were knowingly or unknowingly following the universal laws for mortals, or stuff along those lines. get it right.

Did you say the super broly movie "expanded" the Canon? ... I think you mean retconed....

You would have to know who Goku and Vegeta are to understand the deference in their transformations. Ultra instinct is more of a physical form where as SSB requires perfect ki control it's More of a mental thing. Where as UI requires no thinking. In fact Whis said that split millisecond Goku takes to plan an attack, makes it weaker. Royal Blue is just the next level of perfect control over his ki control.

Maybe Frieza was chunks because he was evil or just considered a regular spirit but heroes get bodies in the afterlife

The power level thing was explained. Since the show didn't end with the Frieza saga they were getting too strong and they would end up having the Superman problem. They become so strong no one can beat them soooo what do you do with that? Get rid of power levels and logic. (kinda like how superman can bench a universe but can get punched by idk some strong dude)

Kaioken is no joke. It doesnt have to do with power lvls but actual endurance. Only gpku can handle the intense stress destruction on the body

I swear the Earth dragon must not like Freeza as much as any of the characters in the show, so when he has to bring him back, he decides, sod it, I'll not put his body back together, I'll leave him a cut above the rest, simply because I am a nice guy, I mean Dragon!
