Delpo bumping with a ball on Tsonga´s forehead is pure gold
Nadal and Agassi playing each other warms my heart. So lucky we got to see a few matches between them. Some great points overall. The Monfils/Schwartzman made me chuckle hahaha.

Agassi shaking his head and smiling like yeah these new guys are too much for me now.
Agassi, to my mind, is the most important player to ever play tennis. He was the one who turned tennis into what it is today; for 30 years serve and volley had dominated the sport but almost single handedly he showed the world how differently the sport could be played, and the whole game changed as a result. Those dimitrov returns against sock still never fail to amaze me. I honestly don’t think it is possible to hit a forehand return harder than Sock did on those two. Seriously, they don’t even look real they are moving so fast! And then perfectly placed landing right at Dimitrov’s feet; literally perfect returns. Sock had to have been losing his mind after dimitrov returned them both for winners with a behind the back shot and a tweener!! At that point it is either throw your racket in frustration (probably what I would have done!) or just smile and shake your head as sock did.
@JohnnyOlsson
Жыл бұрын
Doing that once would have been highlight-worthy, but twice in a row is just unbelievable. As mentioned, those are very good returns from Sock. Even making two returns of that caliber is an achievement on its own. So many good things happening here, and one thing to notice is that on the second one, Sock doesn't even try to play it. Not sure if he could have anyway, but it's like he recognizes that this Dimitrov's moment, that making a second shot like that just deserves him the point.

The essence of proper play. Try hard, do your best, respect your opponent but most importantly have FUN doing it.
One thing I love about tennis, and this may come down to the point system of the game, is that players can recognize each other's achievements and even give up a point out of good sportsmanship. Like Sock on that second impossible play by Dimitrov. He doesn't even make an attempt to get at the ball, just walks off and lets Dimitrov have the moment he deserved. (He wasn't gonna turn it around anyway of course, but not even bothering makes it so much better.) Also, I recall a game from way back when Stefan Edberg got three straight aces to make it 40-0 and his opponent (don't remember who) took a seat and let him put a fourth ace in an empty court. Another one of those moments where you recognize the greatness in your opponent and let them have their moment.
8:50 Lmao I love Monfils

Not a huge fan of Djokovic (demeanor on court mainly) but I have to say he so often gives his opponent credit when they play good shots, far more so than most other players.
