🔵20 - Reduction of Order: 2nd Order Linear Homogeneous Diff Equation with Non-Constant Coefficients
When the coefficients of a 2nd order linear homogeneous differential equation is non-constants or variable, we can use the method of reduction of order.
This helps us to reduce the order of the differential equation and solve for the general solution.
One limitation to this approach is one solution must be given in the problem.
That will help us to find the second solution and hence the general solution to the d.e.

I thought when doing order reduction, y=y1 times v where v is an arbitrary function of x and y1 is the given pilot solution when do you use this integral formula then

How is the integration of 3/x equal to (1/x)^3 am lost there, how does it differ from the second integral you did in the last step
