I love the irony that these 60 year old workhorses are still used to tow broken down modern trains

Used to take them for granted back in the day and ‘oh it’s just another 37’. Will we ever feel the same about a 66 as we do now about these vintage workhorses?

Unlikely I’d say but some appreciation of Sheds will likely grow as they start being phased out in the future. 👍

My favorite class 37 was 37509 which was featured in a tv ad but was scrapped at Cardiff Canton.

The quality of products coming out of the Vulcan works in Newton Le Willows. Sadly, all demolished, just the workers' village left.

A bit like Triggers brush 25 years old, had 15 new brush heads and ten new handles , those diesel's will have had many engine, wheelset replacements ,great none the less

Unpopular opinion: The new LORAM livery looks awesome on a 37!

Up there with best diesel platforms ever built. Just something about the size, sound and shape that makes them perfect.

Because that’s what many of them are sued for and they are still in service with multiple mainline train operators 👍

wow that whole line of class 60s parked up, why not stick a new engine and brake pads on them, Who signed off on the 68s? god they are ugly as hell
