What ppl cant explain properly abt Messi is that, 1) he didnt do fancy dribble, he just keep running with the ball and maneuvering with minimal movements yet nobody can touch nor stop him. 2) he always knows where his teammates are and whether they free, offsides or not. 3) he always knows how will the opponent defenders and keepers react coz he orchestrates them by making sure they focusing on his feet and the ball. 4) he doesnt have powerful shot but it always go in difficult angles.

Osman Ghoni Mbappe could take on 5/6 players like Messi does, but its not the same. Messi's technique makes him better, the swivell of the hips, change of direction, speed, movement, control...its all perfect. Mbappe just kicks the ball 10 yards and sprints after it, cant rake anything away from Mbappe though, or any of the players you listed, because they are all amazing footballers. They are also all human..Messi isnt.

Personal favourite -Messi..Due to all round abilities + goal scoring..Ronaldo's game is based on his physicality
i'm not sure what's more impressive, his feet, his mind or some combination of the two, practically every touch he takes is weighted exactly as he wants it, if he wants his next touch forward to give him a yard of space, his next touch will take the ball exactly a yard away, to the fucking centimetre, otherwise it's like he wills the ball to match his stride perfectly. always exactly in sync, no wasted energy, no playing catch-up with the ball going too far ahead of him, no need to slow his run to take his next touch, it's mesmerising, but the fact is he's not just on the pitch alone. every touch he takes is a smart one, he's always aware, forming images in his mind of where his teammates are, where opposition defenders are, and how best to deal with each scenario. you'll see him dribble past two defenders, play an inch-perfect one-two with a teammate, get back on the ball and respond with an inch perfect finish for the occasion, and he'll do all of it in a matter of seconds. he's just astonishing. as much as I respect Ronaldo for his goalscoring and athleticism, Messi is the peak of sheer, unadulterated brilliance in football.

Saw a bunch of videos of Messi as a kid, and im convinced he was born with the ball on his feet. In all this time playing he just gain some height, wisdom, and a beard all the skills were already maxed out...he truly is the greatest football player ever.

Technical individual skill and technique doesn't always lead to goals or assists. In ice hockey you have Jaromir Jagr as the clearly most dominant player one-on-one or beating the opposition with pure stickhandling domination, and yes he is also one of the best all time in goals and assits, but not the best. I'm glad some players don't just play to score, but also see the sport as an art!

They both incredible skills in their disposal. Messi can do better dribblings and ball control, but ronaldo have far better acrobatic skills, headers, shooting capabilities from a distance. Ronaldo is too much unpredictable from where he can score. But messi is much predictable but still u are very helpless to stop him.

I started watching and loving football only because of CR7's performance and temperament but ....after understanding what football actually is ..apart from individual and teams rivalries...since last few years,I can proudly state that I am one of the craziest and biggest admirer/fan/follower/well-wisher of LIONEL MESSI❤My heart melts everytime I see him on the field...Also, I had teary eyes and a constant smile on my face when I saw him the happiest ever with that Copa America's trophy 🏆A true magician!! There are so many CR7 fans in the world like you were who should firdt watch Messi's game with any pre conceived notion and then decide who is better football in the world...nothing to take away from CR7 for his hard work and goal scoring...but the magic moments which gives goosebumps is in Messi's game only..he makes the game more beautiful with his unmatched skills and on top of that he humble never complaining nature on the field make people admire..love and respect him....

Michel Tetchi Ronaldinho WAS a god in this sport but sadly his prime didn’t last very long, right now Messi’s the best at dribbling, play making AND finishing. I’m sorry but most of Ronaldos goals are tap ins... he’s a great player and his free kicks are amazing too but not better than Messi’s.

shooting is highly debateable. CR7 has much more power on his shots, but in terms of accuracy, Messi is ahead. The stats favor Messi on accuracy. Messi has 5.22 shots per goal while Ronaldo has 6.43 shots per goal. Messi has 47.6% shots on target whole Ronaldo is only at 41.1%. The stats doesnt lie, the only stats that CR7 is winning is headers and penalty conversions. Messi also has better long range career goals from outside the box (87 goals vs 61 goals). Better freekick conversion rates (9% vs 6.2%). So I would still pick Messi over Ronaldo in terms of shooting.

He's a player that if not for his scoring and dribbling abilities would still be one of the most valuable players on any field he plays on. His haters will point out lulls in goals and wins. To them, I implore they watch him actually play. The impact he has on the field. The amount of respect he demands from the opponent. The chances he creates one, two, seven passes in advance. His positioning opening up space for teammates. There will simply never be another like him. I hope there will be but it's unlikely. Incredible goal scorers will come. No one should compare him with anyone as it is incomparable. The day he retires is the day when football became boring. I only watch football because of his ability and his magic. Yes, there were players who were entertaining like Ronaldihnio but this is a different level. I don't watch to see who wins, I just watch to catch a grasp of the moment when he produces something magical and great thing about it that he does almost in any game, and that is what encourages me to wake up even 3 a morning to watch his games.
