None of these except I did get some of the race car transporter at 50% and 75% off and just sold my last one today. My fave is 60329 City School Day. Wish I had more but was lucky to get a couple at 30% off. It hasn't quite hit double it's msrp but is double what I paid.

Remember when people used to buy lego to play with it?

this videos are kind of clickbait cause amazon always has the highest prices cause most casual people wanna buy there. THere are far more lower prices on ebay or smaller markerplaces. Also, for that prices you could also think about import them from EU. for examble the 75252 there are plenty of new boxes for 800 euros, even lower if you can snip them on auction. People are just lazy to correctly search for sets where to get for the lowest price and just buy it with heavy surcharge from amazon sellers

That's where a lot of people like to sell LEGO. He made sure to mention at the beginning of the video that this was just on Amazon. It's not clickbait. It's to show the potential.

@@bavarianwolf3806 it's not because people on Amazon are dumb - it's because people want to buy more on Amazon because they trust the platform, they get 2 day shipping, quick and free returns, and they use it for everything else in their lives. So while buying some soap for the bathroom, they are adding a LEGO set to the cart. Amazon is the best example that we have of the true market price, because it is more representative of the broad market. BrickLink is too niche and unknown to most regular shoppers, and buyers there are sophisticated LEGO fans, so the prices there are lower. But also it is because the selling fees on BrickLink are much lower, so sellers can afford to sell at lower prices and still do well. But just because prices are higher on Amazon doesn't mean we shouldn't be looking at prices on Amazon. In fact, it is the opposite. We should definitely be looking to Amazon for gauging the market, because it is the best representation of the general population of LEGO shoppers that we have available.

You should also show the low prices on other plattforms where this sets get sold for much less then on amazon, cause people are dumb and they are only buy on amazon and accept the high prices instead of doing research where you can buy them much lower

​@@BrickBucks But in Poland, nobody buy EOL on Amazon. We have olx, vinted, allegro and FB group. 99% buyers choose Allegro - something like amazon but localy.

@@BrickBucks on vinted the seller has no fees. If you factor in the amazon fees, your profit will probably be the same whether you sell it on vinted at a lower price or on amazon for a higher price. I don’t know if you can see what’s going on on vinted from the US, but there are scores of sets that don’t move, even at retail price, despite the fact they’re discontinued. possibly not much liquidity at the moment, who knows. but the european market has been terrible recently.

Based on these results, does that mean you typically sell Q4 of the year following retirement? Not a hard-fast rule, but generally?

I’m surprised the 501st Super Battle Pack is doing so well. A ton of them were sold, so I’d think the market would be flooded with supply after retirement and have low demand.

not all LEGO set can be purchased below the MSRP. The Amazon Price might not be the actual price sold and may vary over time. Large sets have high shipping and handling charges.

Yes all sets can be bought below MSRP, just gotta learn how. These Amazon prices are actual sales - you can tell by looking at the green line in the middle chart. And shipping and handling charges are a small price to pay when you are doubling your money (plus if you got a discount, which you should have, it will more than cover it)

How do you deal with sets that mysteriously just disappear without warning - Ginger Cat, Fish Tank and Postcard Paris are three examples? All just became unavailable without any clue that they were retiring. All were very popular sets with no reason to retire.

Race car transporter Amazon listing has a strange glitch some of us cannot sell it, additional gate, so if they let you sell it the price is better.

I knew I wanted to buy my own copy of the Star destroyer before it went up but for some reasons I didn’t think that that was a good enough sign to invest in it

Hello Mr.S. Always enjoying your time and post. Always listening for many years but I wanted to send some info this time. I was leaving Tennessee for Barcelona and stopped into Boston to Paris and today Barcelona Lego store (1 official and 2 not ) but the stores I went to did not have 1 set and said they did not expect anymore. I know that in different regions they might but all 6 stores had 0. SW cantina. Might be a situation like the Rome coll. That disappeared Anyways enjoy. Jason

If you ever sell your house, thanks for scalping it and charging that poor family double what you bought it for. Thanks Amazon for scalping all the things you buy from them...did you know they get the stuff much cheaper than they sell it to you for??? Lego investors are providing a storage service so that fans can find sets years after retirement. As a result of using their real estate and warehousing to provide that service, they sell for higher prices to make it worthwhile for them. No different than other retailers

You buy and resell stuff, you add any value expect making harder for kids to get their toys. You should start a real job and not depend on other people to produce, create, ship stuff that you will resell. You are bad and you know it. 💩

Are these charts just asking prices on Amazon? Do you also have sales numbers at the different price levels? Anyone can ask what they want for an item but does it sell? Just like on eBay, I don’t look at asking price, I look at sold listings. I agree that money can be made investing in Lego and have done it for years. I just think Amazon is not the best option for most Lego fans.
