We should allow these PIO players ASAP. Because if we play better/ qualify for the world cup lots and lots of people will start supporting Indian football. They will watch Indian football. As a result Indian football will grow. AIFF will generate money, that money will be used in grassroot development. So, this is a process. This needs to start now. Government has to understand the dynamics of the football.

There will be more competition for available slots. Only Best could play. Coach will have more choices for 1 position.

Why Pio will give up his nationality..? What is that in Indian football team..? Indian football team is 100th in World. We have one of the most poor football structure in World. It's always a double edged sward... On one hand you will get better players who have been developed in a better way and play in better leagues... And on the other end it will be more difficult for homegrown players to reach that level... Also it will slowly apply to other sports as well... Must weigh pros and cons very carefully!

Growing Grassroot without OCI is very difficult. It will take us 2060 to play next World Cup to grow quality of our players. We have to agree and accept that present players quality is pathetic. Finally someone with some sense in the comments.

Players who have already played for other nation in senior team can't represent India according to FIFA rules. There are some exceptions though like if any player has played only friendlies then he can change his team. So I don't think sarpreet Singh is eligible.
