    I’m 40. One thing that I wish I knew in my 20s is that who you choose as your partner or spouse is one of the most important decisions that you can make. That person can elevate you or drag you down.

    The part about "building a solid tribe of female friends" really hit the nail on the head for me! I too am in my 30's and I don't really have any close knit female friendships. I yearn for those friendships with every fiber of my being. The older we get, the more challenging it is to establish these wonderful friendships. Boyfriends (sometimes even husbands) come and go; we as women need to stop solely focusing on men and take time to develop strong connections with other ladies. This is truly one of the biggest regrets from my 20's and younger years.

    “25 is not old.” Thank you. I’m 31 and recently found the career I actually want after going to school and trying different jobs in my 20s. Since I’m a new entrepreneur, I’m not making much $$$ and that can be discouraging as a 31 year old, looking at other women my age who are financially stable. But what I do have is youth, health, peace, the challenge of learning entrepreneurship, more freedom, impact, etc. Trying to count my blessings because while I’m comparing myself to others, they are comparing themselves to me! I am on my own unique, beautiful journey. There are married people jealous of single people, entrepreneurs jealous of 9-5ers…. Keep your eyes set on YOUR path.

    I just turned 20 (this month). And what I've learned (got a bit shocked) so far are : 1. Parents can drag you down indirectly. So always be smart to watch the situation 2. You will start to lose "friends" to go out with like how you did in high school 3. Mental health problems is now a normal thing for you. You just gotta improve and forget about the stress because.. 4. Stress won't go away unless you rely on your parents 100% 5. Being fake and masking is a different thing. Sometimes you just need to match the vibe with other people to get a lot of connections especially at work. 6. Being grateful is a MUST. Don't ever compare yourself with anybody. Or if you have to, must be in a positive, encouraging way. 7. Sometimes saying "No" is the better than sacrificing your other importances 8. More disciplines will be very helpful. Especially in time. 9. Other people sometimes can understand you better than your family. And it's ok. 10. People are competing at work. They can be your friends but wanna be better than you and "win". As I said, be smart to watch every situations. 11. Last but not least, be wise on who you choose to share your probs with

I also agreed with needing to slow down because I too felt like I would miss people when their gone and regret it. I need to not worry what others think, not rush things, build a tribe, and not think im right about everything, know that it’s ok to change my mind and etc. I saved this video because it resonates with me, I been feeling like my 20s are not good already and I only been in them for 2yrs. 😅 Thanks for another video❤

  • @Lainjo
    @Lainjo Жыл бұрын

    1. Slow Down/ Be present in all life moments. Life is moving. (Time cant be gotten back/ cherish times and moments)-everything you want to accomplish/goals is going to happen but take time to cherish moments in life. 2. Beauty without a kind heart is merely decoration. Work on being beautiful inside, out. Not just physical appearance. being pretty is aesthetic, being beautiful is wholesome. 3. Stop trying to prove yourself. (you have nothing to prove.) Be you, be genuine>> stop trying to prove yourself to family, cousins, friends. it does not matter. They see your value. 4. 25 is not old/ 30 is not old. You don't have to have your life figured out at 25/ 30. your not in control of your timeline. 5. There is a time to be, do, have everything you want to have. 6. Attention from opposite sex means absolutely nothing. You cant do anything with male attention. ( watch at >> 12:02 ) 7. Sex is not love. ( Any man who wants to sleep with you does not respect you, and in fact is not love.) 8. Find your tribe>> (female friends) and find it early. Be intentional about building a solid tribe of friends. 9. Similarly to # 8 Quality friends over quantity of friends. 10. Be more adventurous. Doing things out of the normal. step outside your comfort zone. 11. University is the biggest scam of life>>>> disclaimer>>> Breeny lee's personal opinion/experience. 12. Don't take things personally and don't hold grudges. 13. It's ok to change your mind. Stop trying to have all the right answers. 14. … (She skipped #14) 15.Learn to let things go. >>>"Its not that deep" 16. save save save. Don't spend everything you earn. Save your money. 17. Opinions of others. (watch >>> @ 25:04 18. in her 20(s) >> she learnt >>>nobody cares. Watch @ 26:11 19. Stand up for yourself. 20.young choices become adult problems.

    I'm 25, and I could relate to a lot said. The family dynamics, relationship issues and the fact that I never built a tribe. Tbh it was hard for me as a social outcast, struggled with depression and anxiety and now I'm in position where I'm not so sure about myself fully, it's like I'm stuck in a latter stage of bittersweet adolescence. I know there's a lot more to life but sometimes I feel like I missed out on my best as a child and a teen. I see so many persons my age out with their friends at so many events, and then I get FOMO. Working to be better at the end of the day ofc, cause it's only one life I got and I don't wanna forever live with regrets.

    I'm 22 and finding your tribe really struck me mainly because I am experiencing many changes- many to do with location. I moved to a different country with my family, and then once again I moved to another city by myself for uni. I cannot help but feel myself becoming a floater, but I will just trust the process because, at the end of the day, I always find genuine love in good friendships. I think the tribe will form so long as I remain open to it.

    Your third point made me cry, because I always try to prove myself, even if it’s unconsciously and I absolutely hate that. No one cares at the end of the day. Everybody is worried about their own lives. So you just might do what you love and not care about the view of other ppl. Also, I‘m 25 right now and I’ve nothing figured out yet… thank you for your words.

    I’m turning 21 in a few months and I’ll be graduating college in a year and half and I’ve never been so anxious. Just knowing that I am in my twenties is scary (I was 16 a few days ago). My good girlfriend and I talk about it everytime we meet up - when will we meet our partner, our future career, health, relocation, happinesss - it’s just so much to think about. Comparison is also a huge thing 😫. Something that I’ve been doing more is journaling to clear my head. I’m enjoying these gems you’re dropping Breeny ❤ Currently working on #3

I have learnt much in this year of 25 than ever before, allowing God to take control had been best decision I've ever made. What you've shared is so true, the world makes people feel like we are sometimes behind or slow or deviant but we all have a purpose and when times right we all will be were we need to be. 🙏❤️ The years we spend being in our 20s are the most teaching years ever!

    The very first thing you mentioned is what I need to work more on. Even though I do spend time with my close family/friends and be in the moment it’s still hard at times not to feel like I’m behind. I’m 29 and still don’t have a career (figuring that out) and I live at home. However, I’m being smart saving my money, got an 401k, Roth IRA and Life Insurance. So I’m blessed to have a grandma who allows me to be able to accomplish these things. Anywho, I do like being around my granny, mom, lil brother and sis. I have to remind myself that I’m doing just fine and everything that’s meant for me shall be! I’m blessed beyond measure.* 💕✨💞

    I’m 29, turn 30 next month and it would’ve been nice to know how unstructured and raggedy your 20’s actually are. Lol my mom had 3 of her 4 kids by her 20’s. I remember her back then and it boggles my mind to realize that she probably barely knew what she was doing. Just figuring it all all like the rest of us are these days. But another really big one for me is not letting people put me in a box and me actually holding myself there. That’s held me back a lot. I’ve been doing the personal work though and I’m pretty excited for my 30’s. 🥰🤩

    Really enjoyed listening to this while I was packing... totally agree on the point about not having to have it all figured out in your 20s, it's something I've BEEN saying to myself and others for a long time. I remember being 18 and crying my eyes out feeling like I'd failed for being unemployed, broke and not the "IT" girl. Then I turned 20 and suddenly felt this immense pressure to get all my life's goals achieved by 24 and then took a step back and realised how ridiculous it was. Now I'm 28 and honestly I have never felt more contented. By 22 I became a BBC TV Presenter, by 25 I landed my first TV commission and now this month I'm making my first TV Director and Writer debut for Warner Bros. Discovery. I didn't start off as the girl who all the guys noticed, but now the tables have turned and honestly I realised I wasn't missing out in the first place, half these dudes who may look great on the outside are whispering sweet empty nothings, so it wasn't hard to spot a quality man who found me when I wasn't even looking and loves me for who I am and values my mindset as well as the physical attributes... I say this all not to impress you but to say, LISTEN TO BREENY! It's going to be fine and sometimes you just have to trust the process and enjoy the journey... even when it's not going according to your plan. PS: To any teenager watching, Breeny has been a source of inspiration since I was 16, you're in good hands😉

    I got into college at 21, finished highschool in 2016 at 17. So I stayed home for 5 years trying to get into college and in that space my friends from highschool had finished college and were already working. 😂😊. I've never really looked forward to anything in life. Started some form of Entrepreneurship in that period of staying home, about two years before I got the college admission. Did my Internship at 24 (just turned). Now I want to travel to Benin Republic to improve my french. Not the kind of life people who know me (or knew me) would have envisioned for me. I'm learning radical self acceptance.

However I used to be in fine arts (I know, I am both an art fanatic and a science nerd) and I absolutely thought that wasn't something everyone needed to do. There is an incredible side to being taught new things and discussing ideas with others, but if you cannot afford secondary education it's absolutely possible to be a creative without a degree.

I often overthink and put myself into a panic so it’s hard for me to stay present but I try to mediate and pray things like that to help and I definitely needed to hear that “ don’t need to prove nothing to nobody “ comment .. I just went through a horrible break up 6 months ago and I felt like I needed to prove to my ex that he made a mistake .. this further proves I’m fine just the way I am, his loss! Side note : I am guilty for thinking 25 is old!! Hahaha I have so much goals I want to accomplish by that age! It seems so far away even tho it’s only 5 years away from me currently lol! When a person walks around with attitude issues, it will only open doors to depression and men who will keep them on a rollercoaster journey of anxiety. Work in humbling yourself.
