I used to work in a pottery outlet and we used price stickers on everything. Whenever the owners decided to change prices or put on a sale, we would have to remove all the price stickers and put on new ones (so removing stickers on about a thousand items). We would spray the price sticker with windex, then use the back end of a swiffer duster (the plastic holder piece) to push the sticker and adhesive off. Windex breaks down sticker adhesive in about 10 seconds, so no need to wait 20mins to remove your sticker tags!

You should be careful about using anything for drinking that is made for another use. My high school Chemistry teacher taught us that beakers and other laboratory vessels shed microscopic glass shards constantly. Anything meant for drinking needs to be specifically treated and/or tested for that purpose. There's a chance a glass holder for a candle is food safe. There's also a chance that it sheds glass shards, like a beaker. Stay safe folks.

Another good tip that I use when I have a candle that is too small for the holder is to wrap an elastic band around the base of the candle. This usually makes the candle fit snugly and it eliminates a build up of wax inside the candle holder.

I like the tape grid over the vase tip. I do the flower arrangements for my church sanctuary and one tip I use is crumpling the cellophane the flowers come in and putting it in the clear glass vases with the flowers then add water. It raises the stems up when the vase is too tall for the flowers to sit right and it will give the appearance of ice chunks in a clear vase.

As someone that has worked in the paint departments at Home Depot and Lowe's, there's a problem with getting a paint sample from behind the outlet plate. To get a decent color match, we would recommend getting a sample at least the size of a quarter. Depending on the machine that is scanning the sample, a size of a dime might work. Anything smaller than that is useless. If your walls are textured, you might as well start over with your paint color because it never matches.

  • @ma-dg3gh

Guess we were lucky because we managed to get an exact match of the color of paint of our textured walls that were painted 20 years ago when we bought our house. Needed to do touch-ups on the walls where the grandkids had scuffed and scraped areas. Home Depot came through for us! We took a chip of paint from one of the walls.

I actually appreciated all of it they were great tips and I will be using them. I think what I like the most about this video was the fact that you were concise, you stayed on topic, you kept moving so you went from one topic to the next it was quick and you went through step-by-step how to do it. I really appreciated it. Most other DIY videos are not like that, they are not specific and they don’t always give all the details or the products that they use. I get bored or irritated with them and have to fast forward through, but this was great. Not to mention all the links for the products used, wonderful information. Thank you so much

Love all the tips! ❤ Thank you Drew. Can I add a tip for you on the caulking? I worked in a tiling store and learnt from the pros, use clear window/glass cleaner to smooth caulking rather than soap. The alcohol in the cleaner vaporises off so if you have any little bubble holes in caulking you can add more, soap can leave a residue which can sometimes affect filling in the little holes. I've done this trick for years swear by it, also have used this trick to add enamel paint touch ups like on stoves and fixing car duco. Spray the cleaner on your finger and wipe across. 🤗

When you have a votive holder that you add your own candles to, put a quarter to half inch of cool water in before dropping the candle in. When the candle drips, the cool water hardens it so it doesn’t stick to the container. This is really helpful if your votive holder has rounded walls (like a rose bowl shape) and getting wax out the other way would be harder.

Great tips as always, Drew! When painting and using that green Frog Tape, it apparently has some sort of a bleed resistant medium in the tape itself that is activated by moisture, it's supposed to be activated by the new paint being brushed on or against it. It's always a good idea to burnish the tape down with a plastic scraper, then you can take a damp cloth and run it along the edge of the tape to activate the bleed resistant medium, or even use a fine mist sprayer to do so. You should be able to get a clean edge on the new paint color when you remove the tape.

That's too much work for me. Just like another commenter just said, I also just use a mug warmer to melt the wax while at the same time filling the room with the aroma. I reuse it many times before I decide to move that wax to another vessel or discard it. It's also a way to create a "flameless" candle.

My daughter introduced me to you and now I cant get enough! You gave me the confidence to start working on my bathroom and bedroom. I loved this video, but my favorite was the screw hooks! Stupid simple, but so ingenious! BTW we are doing our bathroom using the board and batten on the walls and I took your suggestion of the color (backwoods) and we couldnt be happier with this choice. Love all the moody rooms you do too! Keep making those videos! Love you!!

I just found your channel and love it. Your hints are practical and you explain them clearly and quickly. I hate channels that will spend 15 minutes explaining just 1 simple thing. You’re got a new fan and subscriber.

To remove labels, rub on a bit of cooking oil, let soak in hot water. Wash with goid dish detergent. Easy

Little tip with frog tape instead of needing to pre paint with previous wall colour you can wipe with a slightly damp rag and wipe down the edge it activates the ingredient on the back of tape (that’s why it comes in a plastic container)

I have to face up to the fact that I am old when I watch Drew..lol The book cover things we did as a necessity when I was young. Buying a book cover was not an option. The grid on the wider vases also has been around for years. But I like him and enjoy his discoveries. He's very good with designing.

The duvet cover idea. I needed that 15 years ago when I bought my first one. That is amazing!

I love what you did with your apartment! I've always put time and money into my apartments, people tell me I'm crazy because it's not mine and I'm wasting my money. I say it's my home for the time being and I am willing to put the time and energy plus money into as I want to be comfortable, it is my home after all.

👋You can also place your candle jars in the freezer, allow them to totally freeze and when you remove them from the freezer the candle wax will actually pop right out. If it doesn't, just coax it a little bit with a knife and it comes right out! I've been doing it this way for years. 😁Great Hacks! Thanks so much. 💖

Lemon essential oil removes stickers much easier and quicker. And smells really good too. Put a few drops on a cotton ball and rub it over the sticky residue until it’s gone.

I love the way you cover so much ground in such a short time. I didn't realize it had bn 20 min but what a wealth of info. Love the caulk trick! I've bn putting off building a built-in bc I absolutely despise dealing with the mess. Thank you for all of your inspo.

Also! Another good caulking tip, dont do a whole line and then go over with your finger. While your squeezing, drag your finger at the tip and in the same motion down the area you are trying to secure

Love the duvet hack - I never knew that. You may or may not know to keep pasta from billing over put a wooden spoon over the open pot. Also best and least messy way to cook bacon - in the oven - just Google it to find which temp will work best for you depending on how crispy you like it! Thanks for the tips!! Blessings!
